The news comes as Delta prepares to open its expanded security checkpoint and baggage claim area to passengers on 20 April 2023.
A new check-in and luggage drop area with a digital back wall stretches 250 feet of the building. It provides travellers with English and Spanish directions, information about the Delta Sky Club, and gate details.
On 20 April, seven of the facility’s fourteen security lanes will open to the public for business; by late summer, all lanes in the United States will serve customers.
With the completion of the Delta Sky Way at LAX project in 2023, Terminals 2 and 3 will be consolidated into a 1.2-million-square-foot, state-of-the-art, 27-gate complex, providing an easy-to-navigate customer journey and connecting Terminals 2 and 3 to the Tom Bradley International Terminal (Terminal B), allowing quick airside connections to Delta and other airlines.
Delta is also making strides in social impact by offering new goods on board that support the airline’s long-term goals of sustainability and equity while also providing premium, wellness-focused experiences.
The new amenity kits for Delta One, made by Mexican clothing designer “Someone Somewhere”, are made from locally sourced, regenerated cotton and do away with five plastic elements, including zips and packaging. The ecological bedding offered to Delta One guests is made entirely from recycled plastic bottles.
