With less than 50 days to go until Queen Anne’s maiden voyage, Cunard has unveiled an exciting lineup of new deck games for guests aboard its latest ship. The luxury cruise line, with a rich history of celebrating deck games for over a century, is set to enhance the onboard experience with an exclusive partnership with Pickleball England, the governing body of one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK and North America.
Pickleball, a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, can be played by singles or in pairs, either indoors or outside. Queen Anne’s top deck will feature its very own state-of-the-art Pickleball court, offering guests a unique opportunity to engage in this popular sport while cruising.
In a world-first, Queen Anne will also allow travellers to master their archery skills with a real bow and arrow. This is part of Cunard’s new partnership with Archery GB, connecting the cruise line with world-leading athletes and Olympic coaches. Onboard instructors, accredited by Archery GB, will offer guests the chance to learn the basics of archery, compete with fellow travellers, and enjoy a social introduction to the sport.
The ship’s spectacular Sky Bar and Observation Deck, located at the forward of the ship on deck 14, will serve as a haven for deck game enthusiasts. This multi-purpose venue offers some of the most uninhibited views of any outside space on board. Golfers will have access to a putting green and fully stocked driving range, allowing them to practice their game surrounded by sparkling sea views or overlooking stunning port landscapes. The ever-popular deck quoits and shuffleboard courts will also be based in the Observation Deck and Sky Bar, offering travellers the perfect vantage point to enjoy friendly competition.
Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, said, “Whether it’s pickleball, archery, or world-class shows and lectures, Cunard is committed to providing guests with a wealth of activities to choose from whatever mood or interest may take them. Our onboard entertainment has always been at the heart of what we do, and we look forward to Queen Anne continuing this trend in the future.”
