Some may be surprised to learn that Jetstar managed to take a top accolade in the world’s airline awards.
Jetstar made the top 20 as well. Not only did it finish ninth, but it was also named Best Low-Cost Airline in Australia/Pacific 2022.
A poll of 14,3 million consumers determined the recipients of the Skytrax awards from over 100 different countries who evaluated more than 300 other airlines between September 2021 and August 2022.
Jetstar had a rough patch a month after the review period ended in September this year when the airline was inundated with complaints.
Since the beginning of September, a number of engineering concerns have caused a slew of aircraft cancellations, affecting at least 4000 people.
A Jetstar representative expressed regret for the trouble the delays caused.
However, the airline has continued to create waves in the aviation industry, as evidenced by its selection as 2021’s Best Low-Cost Airline in the Asia-Pacific region by AirlineRatings.com’s annual Airline Excellence Awards.
The Qantas Group, of which Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, and Jetstar Japan are a part, has seen rapid expansion throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Japan since 2003.
