Vietjet Announces New Service To Brisbane In June

In June, Vietjet will begin operating twice-weekly flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Brisbane, making it the first airline to connect the two cities directly.

Outbound flights will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 10:05 on Mondays and Fridays and arrive in Brisbane at 21:10 local time. The inbound flights will depart at 23:10 and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 04:50 the next morning.

To mark the launch of the new route, all “Eco” class tickets on Vietjet between Vietnam and Australia (Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney) will be available for purchase for a “zero dollars” base cost until 22 March.

Here’s something very cool: Vietjet says it will provide Australian customers with complimentary domestic transfer flights.

“We can’t wait to take the first direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Queensland, also known as Australia’s Sunshine State.”  Vietjet vice president Nguyen Thanh Son remarked that adding Brisbane to the airline’s route map would be “another development” in establishing broad connections between Australia and Vietnam.

Nguyen elaborated, “Particularly with it recently announced connecting flights through Ho Chi Minh City and eventually other Vietnamese hubs, Vietjet can attract more passengers from Asia and Europe to Australia.” Australia-bound flights to Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, mainland China, Thailand, India, and Kazakhstan are now easy and affordable due to the airline’s extensive network.

“We’re thrilled to have Vietjet as part of the Brisbane family since Vietnam is a rapidly growing market for Queensland. ” Having direct flights between Vietnam and Queensland  for the first time will benefit both countries.”  The CEO of Brisbane Airport, Gert-Jan de Graaff, remarked on how this important new service from Vietjet will facilitate connections between Vietnamese citizens and their friends and family in Queensland.

Vietjet’s flights to Australia will be flown by a wide-body Airbus A330-300. Seating options range from “SkyBoss” business class for 12 to “Eco” and “Deluxe” for 365 in economy.

Starting on 8 April, Vietjet will offer twice-weekly flights to Melbourne and three times weekly flights to Sydney.

Direct flights from Vietjet to Brisbane are expected to boost Queensland’s tourism industry by AU$ 38.5 million and maintain 240 jobs in the state in the first year.
