Thai Airways has announced that it will resume daily nonstop service between Bangkok and Perth on 27 March 2024.
Thai Airways will operate the daily service on a B787-8 aircraft, bringing an additional 256 incoming seats to Western Australia daily – more than 93,000 travellers a year.
Thailand is a significant market for overseas students and the eighth-largest commercial partner for Western Australia.
The return of these nonstop flights will open up new opportunities for the expansion of tourism in both countries, particularly in Thailand, which is seen as a growing market for leisure travel.
The resumption of service also adds another flight option for visitors from the United Kingdom and continental Europe, which are important markets for Western Australia. It enhances WA’s position as “Australia’s Western Gateway.”
Flight TG482 will depart Perth at 16:20 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, landing in Bangkok at 22:20. The return flight, TG481, will leave BKK at 07:20 and arrive in PER at 15:05.
Thai Airways has also announced the addition of a second daily flight between Sydney and Bangkok beginning on 1 April, utilising its Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
Flight TG472 departs Sydney at 14:50 and arrives in Bangkok at 21:10, whereas flight TG471 departs BKK at 22:20 and arrives in Sydney at 10:20 (+1).
