Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, welcomed the newest member of its growing fleet on Friday, 13 October, when the brand-new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
On 15 October, following an in-depth inspection by the technical team at Etihad, the brand-new arrival was put into service and began flying passengers.
“The arrival of our latest 787 Dreamliner underlines our passion to grow this year by enhancing the quality of our customer experience and the reach of our network,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways. “This is all a part of our vision 2030, which supports our growth and has recently been demonstrated by the fact that we began operating new destinations to Osaka, Copenhagen, and Dusseldorf two weeks ago.”
This aircraft, together with the three Dreamliner 787-9s that will follow shortly, has a fuel efficiency up to 25 percent better than many other comparable aircraft of its size.
It has been precisely three years to the day after Etihad took delivery of their last Boeing 787-10, which happened on 13 October 2020. Today’s arrival comes exactly three years later.
