Celebrity Cruises’ Edge-Series ship, Celebrity Edge, arrived in Australia over the weekend, kicking off the country’s cruise season in full swing.
After a 14-night journey from Singapore, including a stopover in Bali, the Celebrity Edge arrived in Darwin.
With almost 2,800 passengers and 1,300 crew, the luxury cruise ship owned by Royal Caribbean Group, the Celebrity Edge, made her first stop in Australia at the Darwin Cruise Ship Terminal. She is currently making her way down the East Coast to the port of Sydney.
The Larrakia Nation welcomed the guests with traditional dancing and a Welcome to Country performance on the ship’s upper deck.
While at the tropical capital for the day, representatives from the Top End Visitor Information Centre welcomed the passengers.
Celebrity Edge, the first of five sister ships, debuted in December 2018 as Celebrity Cruises’ revolutionary vessel.
After calling at Yorkeys Knob and Airlie Beach, passengers will continue to Sydney to board the ship for its inaugural journey out of Australia, a 12-night around New Zealand.
In Sydney, on Saturday, 9 December, guests will join Celebrity Edge’s maiden voyage Down Under – a 12-night sailing trip exploring the landscapes of New Zealand. This is the first of 12 itineraries departing from Sydney and Auckland through April 2024.
