Following an absence of more than 900 days, Celebrity Cruises has returned to New Zealand waters with the introduction of Celebrity Eclipse, the line’s third cruise ship to dock in Auckland since the pandemic.
After a transpacific voyage that began in Honolulu, the Celebrity Eclipse was greeted in Auckland by ‘Sparky,’ the world’s first full-sized all-electric harbour tugboat, which towed the ship into Ports of Auckland.
Beginning on 22 October 2022, the first of 17 departures from Sydney and Auckland through 20 April 2023, Celebrity Eclipse will sail to Sydney for the first official sailing of the 2022-23 season in the region, welcoming guests aboard for a 12-night itinerary exploring the wonderful landscapes of New Zealand.
“Today marks a big milestone for Celebrity Cruises and the local Auckland community with the official premiere of Celebrity Eclipse in New Zealand waters,” said Tim Jones, vice president and managing director of Australia, New Zealand, and APAC for Celebrity Cruises.
We appreciate the loyalty of our guests and partners, and we want to continue to celebrate together as we Journey WonderFULL throughout Australia and New Zealand season.
