Amankora’s Bhutan Lodges Return Renewed

Further north, Amankora Punakha brings together heritage and wellness in a beautifully grounded way. Housed in a restored 300-year-old farmhouse, the lodge has been carefully updated to preserve its character while adding modern comforts and more restorative spaces. The new hydrotherapy facilities are a major draw, including a steam room, Jacuzzi, cold plunge, bucket shower and relaxation lounge.

The lodge’s 12 suites have been fully refreshed too, with upgraded timber finishes, climate control and thoughtful touches that make the rooms feel residential rather than formal. A new intimate dining room seats up to 18 guests, while the original altar room remains in place, preserving the spiritual heart of the farmhouse.
