Avalon adds three new Europe cruises
Avalon Waterways has expanded its Europe collection with three new cruise and tour itineraries, created in partnership with sister brand Globus. The additions bring more choice for travellers who want to combine escorted touring with river cruising, while removing much of the stress of planning a multi-country trip.
The new itineraries are designed to deliver the highlights of Europe in a single, seamless journey. According to Avalon president Pam Hoffee, the appeal is simple: travellers can focus on the experience itself, while the logistics are handled behind the scenes.
The three new itineraries
Essential Britain & Ireland with Romantic Rhine is a 17-day journey priced from $11,707 per person. It spans the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Switzerland, pairing castles, cobblestone streets and classic river scenery along the Rhine.
The Best of Spain with Paris and Normandy is a 16-day itinerary that begins in Madrid and Barcelona before continuing to the Seine for Paris, Normandy’s beaches and the medieval spires of Rouen. It is built for travellers who want a mix of culture, coast and iconic cities in one trip.
Italian Vista with Romantic Rhine with 2 Nights in Lucerne is the longest at 17 days and starts with Italy, including the Colosseum, Venice and Lake Como. It then moves to Lucerne for a lakeside stay before finishing with a Rhine cruise that includes Strasbourg and Amsterdam.
Why these trips stand out
What makes these itineraries attractive is the combination of guided touring and river cruising. That format appeals to travellers who want the depth of a land trip but also the relaxed pace of sailing through Europe by river. It also reduces the need to constantly pack and unpack, which is a major plus on multi-country holidays.
Avalon says these journeys are about being fully present for the best moments of travel, without worrying about transfers, hotel changes or timing issues. That makes them especially appealing for first-time Europe visitors, as well as repeat travellers looking for a more effortless way to see familiar regions differently.
Avalon’s growing Europe collection
With these additions, Avalon’s cruise and tour collection now includes seven itineraries across Europe. That gives the brand a stronger footprint in the region and more options for travellers who want itineraries that feel both comprehensive and easy to follow.
The new departures also reflect continued demand for trips that combine structure with flexibility, especially in Europe where travellers often want to cover several countries in one holiday. By blending river cruising with classic land touring, Avalon and Globus are aiming squarely at that market.
