Travellers looking for seamless connections between Hong Kong and Australia will soon have more choices, as Cathay Pacific reintroduces its non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Adelaide, starting 11 November 2025.
This three-times-weekly summer seasonal service restores an important link between Cathay Pacific’s home hub and South Australia, offering greater flexibility for passengers travelling throughout Hong Kong, the Southwest Pacific, and beyond.
Strengthening Connections Across the Region
With the return of Adelaide flights, Cathay Pacific expands its footprint in the Southwest Pacific, marking its eighth destination in the region. Passengers can also fly year-round between Hong Kong and Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, plus seasonal summer services to Cairns and Christchurch.
A Special Relationship with Adelaide
Cathay Pacific’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, reflected on the airline’s long-standing connection with Adelaide, stating:
“We are thrilled to be reconnecting our home hub with Adelaide, a bustling city that holds particular significance for Cathay Pacific. We first launched passenger flights to the South Australian capital in 1992, and then two years later, our first batch of cadet pilots arrived in the city to complete their flight training, marking the start of our more than three-decade collaboration with Flight Training Adelaide.”
This rich aviation history, combined with Cathay Pacific’s dedication to premium travel experiences, makes the return of the Hong Kong-Adelaide route especially meaningful.
