A new era of connectivity is on the horizon as Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines announce a strategic partnership to enhance travel options between Doha and Manila. Beginning 16 June 2025, Philippine Airlines will offer daily nonstop flights on this key route, supported by codeshare cooperation with Qatar Airways, bringing greater convenience and flexibility to passengers.
Expanded Connectivity
The daily flights from Manila will depart at 18:50, arriving in Doha at 23:40. Passengers will benefit from seamless transfers at Hamad International Airport (DOH), recognised as the World’s Best Airport in the Middle East by Skytrax in 2025, connecting them to over 170 destinations within Qatar Airways’ extensive global network.
Eastbound travellers can also enjoy smooth transitions onto Philippine Airlines flights departing Doha at 01:30, arriving at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 16:15. This new schedule caters to both leisure and business travellers while fostering connections between the Philippines and Qatar.
Strengthening Ties
This partnership is more than a route expansion; it reflects the strong socio-economic ties between the two nations. Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Thierry Antinori, shared:
“This strategic cooperation aims to deepen the socio-economic ties between the Qatari and Filipino communities. We are proud of the new codeshare flights and look forward to delivering increased benefits to global travellers.”
Philippine Airlines President and COO, Captain Stanley K. Ng, echoed this sentiment, stating:
“Our decision to offer daily frequency to Doha will help stimulate tourism, trade flows, and business growth while benefiting Overseas Filipino Workers and their families through greater travel access.”
Enhanced Passenger Experience
The flights will be operated on Philippine Airlines’ long-range Airbus A330-300 aircraft, featuring 18 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 341 seats in Economy. Passengers can expect comfort and sophistication during their journey, coupled with seamless access to onward destinations across the respective networks of both airlines.
Looking ahead, Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines plan to explore additional collaborations, including promoting more destinations and establishing frequent flyer programme cooperation to further enhance the travel experience.
