Along with flagship ship Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria, which will arrive in early 2024, Cunard’s luxurious cruise liner Queen Elizabeth began her homeport season in Australia and New Zealand on 27 November 2023 as she arrived in Fremantle.
As she sets sail for her Sydney homeport season, carrying over 2,000 guests and 900 crew members, the Queen Elizabeth will host selected event journeys and guest speakers,
Kim Hughes, former Australian cricket captain; Sir Peter Cosgrove, former Governor-General; and Tracy Spicer, a journalist, presenter and author, are among the prominent speakers on specific sailings.
On 13 February 2024, the first Sporting Greats and Wellness Voyage 2024 set sail from Sydney, including sporting greats and presenters Brett Lee, Adam Goodes, Karrie Webb, and Mark Beretta, complemented by a wellness program.
After the success of this year’s first voyage, the Great Australian Culinary Voyage 2024 is set to return with an even more impressive lineup of esteemed Australian chefs and experts, including Darren Purchese, Katie Spain, Karen Martini, and Mark Olive. Guests on board will enjoy unrivalled culinary experiences at sea.
While on her four-month deployment, Queen Elizabeth will use a whopping 17 tonnes of local seafood, 68 tonnes of quality Australian meats, 165 tonnes of fresh dairy (including cheese and milk), and 500,000 eggs for the crew and passengers.
To the tune of about AUD$81 million, the three “Cunard Queens” will support local businesses.
Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, expressed her enthusiasm for the start of the Australia and New Zealand homeport season.
“This will be Cunard’s largest celebration in Australia to date.” “We are excited to welcome guests aboard our three elegant Queens for a voyage filled with luxury, cultural enrichment, and unforgettable moments,” Ms McAlister said.
