Rex Airlines has been named the South Pacific’s Best Cabin Service in the 2024 Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Awards. The award was presented Friday night in Singapore, where Rex’s Executive Chairman, Lim Kim Hai, collected it on behalf of the airline.
The award ceremony was part of the FTE APEX Asia Expo, the air transport industry’s largest passenger experience and business performance event. According to APEX, approximately one million flights were anonymously rated on a five-star scale by passengers from more than 600 airlines from around the world.
“We pride ourselves on our warm, heartfelt country hospitality, which sets us apart from all other airlines.” “Our cabin crew exemplify this ethos, providing in-flight service that even other Australian carriers rave about,” Mr Lim said.

“This award recognises their tremendous daily efforts to exceed expectations in sometimes challenging conditions, and it is indeed gratifying to see our passengers acknowledging this spontaneously in the surveys.”
“I thank every one of our cabin crew for the outstanding job they do every single day. “This prestigious award, which follows the Skytrax award for Best Regional Airline Australia & Pacific and the Australian Aviation award for Airline of the Year, unequivocally demonstrates that there is only one national carrier where Australians can genuinely feel at home.” Mr Lim concluded.
Rex is Australia’s largest independent regional and domestic airline, with 58 Saab 340 and 9 Boeing 737-800NG aircraft serving 56 destinations throughout all states.
In addition to the airline Rex, the Rex Group includes wholly owned subsidiaries Pel-Air Aviation (air freight, aeromedical, and charter operator), the Australian Airline Pilot Academy with campuses in Wagga Wagga and Ballarat, and Australian Aerospace Propeller Maintenance, a propeller maintenance organisation. Rex is also a 50% National Jet Express (NJE) owner and a top FIFO, charter, and freight operator.
