American Airlines announced a new seasonal service between Auckland and Los Angeles after its official return to New Zealand last year with a direct flight from Dallas Fort Worth to Auckland.
The new route to the city of Angels, which begins service on 21 December, is the airline’s second operation to Auckland. Adding Los Angeles to its New Zealand services reflects America’s ongoing commitment to expanding its Asia-Pacific presence, ensuring customers have the opportunity and means to visit new places.
Los Angeles is also a key gateway to the mainland United States, Hawaii, and Mexico.
“We had an overwhelmingly positive response from the New Zealand public when we returned to shores last year, so we’re excited to be launching our new seasonal Los Angels route later this year,” said Kyle Mabry, American’s Vice President of Operations and Commercial, EMEA & Asia Pacific.
“By closely working with our partners at Auckland Airport once again, we hope to provide customers with a sustainable, seamless travel experience that introduces them to new destinations, adventures, and memories.”
From 23 December 2023 through March 2024, a Boeing 787-9 will operate seasonal services between Los Angeles and Auckland every day, providing passengers with a world-class experience thanks to services like Flagship Business and Premium Economy cabins, high-speed Wi-Fi, and hundreds of movies and TV shows on demand at every seat.
The inaugural Los Angeles-Auckland flight will arrive at Auckland Airport on 23 December 2023 and depart the same day for Los Angeles. American also operates a codeshare service between Auckland and Los Angeles with oneworld alliance partner Qantas.
