Bonza’s first inaugural service will operate between the Sunshine Coast and the Whitsunday Coast, with tickets costing $59 one way.
According to a recent announcement by Bonza, the company’s first route would connect the Sunshine Coast and the Whitsunday Coast, and one-way tickets will cost $59 USD.
The airline had hoped to launch services earlier this month, but it has been unable to do so because it has yet to receive the necessary Air Operators Certificate.
Bonza will compete with airlines like Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin, and Rex when it finally launches, focusing on connecting major cities by providing “point-to-point” leisure services outside the capital region.
Bonza claims that no other airline flies 93 percent of its network (25 of its 27 routes), and no other low-cost carrier reaches 96 percent of its destination points. The average cost of a ticket is reported at $50.
Shazza, Bazza, and Sheila are the names given to Bonza’s first, second, and third B737s, respectively.
Bonza’s original launch plan was to have a fleet of two to three MAXs, but the company quickly ramped up its ambitions to the current objective of eight.
Nonetheless, a fleet of three would be sufficient to begin operating some of its planned 27 routes in phases.
