Thai AirAsia X has announced that it will start two nonstop routes between Bangkok and Australia this December. The airline will launch service on 1 December to Melbourne and 2 December to Sydney.
On Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, there will be four weekly departures on the Bangkok–Sydney route. There will be flights from Bangkok to Melbourne on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Both flights will be served by a 337-seat Airbus A330 split between 12 Business Class and 365 Economy seats.
Start at AU$299 for a one-way economy flight or AU$1,199 AUD for a one-way Business Class ticket on a premium flatbed seat.
The acting CEO of Thai AirAsia X commented on this announcement of these two new routes.
“Australia is a popular tourist destination and one of the top three study abroad destinations for Thai students because of the country’s long history of friendship with Thailand.”
Travellers from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres are attracted to Thailand and Australia for similar reasons. International visitors may get their fill of Thai culture, shopping, and delicious street food in Bangkok. It’s also a major transportation hub for tourists visiting Australia.
AirAsia X, operating in Malaysia, will begin service from Kuala Lumpur to several Australian destinations. Flights from Kaula Lumpur to Sydney will commence on 9 September, with flights to Perth, Melbourne, and Auckland (via Sydney) beginning in November.
