Before the cruise line’s debut in Australia in December, Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer reward programme unveiled its first-ever cruise-for-points deal with Virgin Voyages.
The cruise for points offers, the first step in a new partnership between Virgin Australia and Virgin Voyages, will be offered for a predetermined redemption price of 79,999 points.
It may be redeemed through the Velocity Rewards store until midnight on 5 October or until sold out. The promotion comes ahead of the planned start of Velocity and Virgin Voyages’ long-term relationship next year.
The promotion is applicable for travel between 16 December 2023 and 5 March 2024 on qualifying sailings departing from Melbourne and Sydney.
It includes free Wi-Fi, essential drinks, unlimited group exercise programmes, entertainment, and tips.
Velocity Chief Executive Officer Nick Rohrlach said the programme is dedicated to providing a great value holiday, describing it as an excellent opportunity for Australians to enjoy a cruise despite growing living costs.
“We are a loyalty programme that stands for incredible value and choice, and we are excited to welcome Virgin Voyages into the Velocity family with our first-ever cruise for points offer,” he said.
“We know Australians are looking for ways to stretch their dollar when booking their next holiday, and this is a fantastic opportunity for Velocity members to use their points to pay for a luxe cruise.” The Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady will debut in Australia on 4 December 2023.
Next year, Velocity and Virgin Voyages are set to start a long-term earn and redemption partnership.
