Scenic Group Enters India and Sri Lanka with River Cruise Launching October 2027
Scenic Group has unveiled a new India and Sri Lanka river cruise and land touring program set to launch in October 2027, with Scenic Aura deployed to West Bengal’s Hooghly River for its inaugural season. The new Scenic tours will launch next year, bringing ultra-luxury discovery to some of India’s most historically significant regions.
Scenic Aura: A Boutique Ship for Just 44 Guests

Scenic Aura is currently being redesigned by MKM Yachts ahead of the October 2027 launch, with interior details to be released later this year. The boutique ship will carry a maximum of 44 guests per departure across five itineraries ranging from 17 to 25 days, spanning North India, South India, Rajasthan and Sri Lanka. Each journey is anchored by a nine-night all-inclusive river cruise along the Hooghly, a lower Ganges tributary flowing through some of India’s most historically significant regions. Land groups will be capped at 25 guests, ensuring an intimate and personal experience throughout the program.
Included Experiences That Bring India and Sri Lanka to Life

Included experiences across the program bring India and Sri Lanka to life with authentic cultural connections. Guests will enjoy high tea at Kathgola Palace in Murshidabad, visit the ISKCON Global Headquarters, explore the Hooghly Imambara and Katra Mosque, and meet with master craftspeople in Matiari’s artisan quarter. These experiences anchor each journey in the rich cultural heritage of both regions, giving travellers authentic connections to the places they explore.
Pricing and Super Earlybird Savings

Itineraries are priced from $13,395 per person, with a super earlybird saving of up to $1,500 per person available on selected departures booked before 31 March 2027. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per person is required within seven working days. For travellers who book early, the super earlybird savings make this ultra-luxury experience even more accessible.
Part of Scenic’s Broader Asia Expansion
The program forms part of a broader Asia expansion for Scenic Group, with Scenic Spirit II joining operations on the Mekong, Emerald Xara arriving in Asia, and Scenic Eclipse II returning to the region. All of these developments are planned for 2028, marking a significant period of growth for Scenic across Asia. Full itinerary details and updated pricing will be confirmed from November 2026.
Why Scenic’s India and Sri Lanka Program Stands Out
Scenic’s India and Sri Lanka program stands out for its October 2027 launch that brings ultra-luxury discovery to both regions, with Scenic Aura deployed to Hooghly River for its inaugural season. The maximum 44 guests per departure ensures boutique intimacy, while five itineraries from 17 to 25 days cover North India, South India, Rajasthan and Sri Lanka.
The nine-night all-inclusive river cruise along the Hooghly, a lower Ganges tributary, anchors each journey, and land groups capped at 25 guests deliver personal experiences. The redesign by MKM Yachts with interior details releasing later this year adds to the exclusivity, while high tea at Kathgola Palace and visits to ISKCON, Hooghly Imambara and Katra Mosque create authentic cultural moments.

Meetings with master craftspeople in Matiari’s artisan quarter complete the experience, with pricing from $13,395 per person and super earlybird savings up to $1,500 for bookings before 31 March 2027. The Asia expansion in 2028 with Scenic Spirit II, Emerald Xara and Scenic Eclipse II marks Scenic’s growing presence across the region.
