Qatar Airways, recently crowned the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax for the eighth time, is set to expand its reach in the Americas with a new service to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Starting December 11, 2024, the airline will operate three weekly non-stop flights from Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, Qatar.
Expanding Presence in Canada
This new route marks Qatar Airways’ second destination in Canada, joining Montréal, which has served over 1.6 million passengers with seven daily flights since its launch. The addition of Toronto as the airline’s fourteenth gateway to the Americas underscores Qatar Airways’ commitment to providing enhanced connectivity and world-class service to Canadian travellers.
Seamless Global Connectivity
Operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, the new Toronto service will feature 42 award-winning Qsuite Business Class seats and 312 Economy Class seats. This service will offer travellers from Canada seamless access to Qatar Airways’ extensive global network, including destinations such as Colombo, Bangkok, Delhi, Kathmandu, and Mumbai.
Commitment to Excellence
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, expressed his enthusiasm for the new route, stating, “The Toronto route is a strong and enduring commitment towards providing Qatar Airways’ Canadian customers with the enhanced connectivity they deserve, as well as access to our world-leading service and Qsuite in-flight product. The addition of a fourteenth gateway to our Americas network is also a testament to our aim in maintaining a key presence across the local market and cements our reputation as a reliable global connector.”
Supporting Canada Through the Years
Qatar Airways has a history of supporting Canada, including contributing to critical diplomatic efforts and establishing an air bridge during the COVID-19 pandemic to facilitate the repatriation of thousands of Canadians. The airline currently flies to more than 170 destinations worldwide, connecting through its Doha hub, Hamad International Airport, and continues to expand its global network to provide passengers with the most luxurious travel experience.
