With more than 92 billion views, Dubai has become the most visited destination on the popular short-form video-sharing mobile app TikTok.
The city’s many tourist destinations, like the Burj Khalifa, Atlantis, The Palm, and others, contribute to its high ranking as a top destination for video content uploads.
The emirate ranked as the number one global travel destination on a list by Airport Parking Reservations.
Second on the list was Barcelona, with 61.3 billion views, then London, with 42.7 billion.
A whopping 158 million Instagram photos have been tagged with the city of London, making it the most popular travel destination overall.
Moreover, with a score of 7.10 out of 10, Dubai ranked third among the best global destinations for young adults in the Gen Z demographic.
As of July, the emirate also surpassed New York City as the most popular destination in the globe for TikTok users.
The UAE emirate scored first in the “TikTok Travel Index 2022,” which included 140 cities. The survey was conducted by the luggage storage company Bounce.
Posts using the hashtag “#Dubai” received 81.8 billion views on Instagram, surpassing New York City’s 59.5 billion views and London’s 36.8 billion views.
” Dubai, synonymous with wealth and elegance, has become one of the most sought-after destinations for sunbathers looking to soak up the rays in style.” “This ultra-modern metropolis is home to some of the world’s most incredible architecture, including the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa,” Bounce said.
Following the pandemic that hit in 2020, Dubai’s travel and tourist economy has recovered. With safety standards, rigorous restrictions, and crowd management, the emirate is now one of the safest destinations to visit on holiday.
According to government data, the emirate received 6.17 million international visitors from January to May 2022, representing a 197 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth over the same period in 2021, when the destination attracted just over two million international visitors.
