Coral Expeditions and Australian Geographic Launch New Kimberley Photography Voyages
Coral Expeditions and Australian Geographic have launched two voyages taking keen photographers to the wildest reaches of the Kimberley region. Operating on board Coral Discoverer, the all-inclusive eight-night voyages will depart round-trip from Broome with capacity limited to just 60 guests.
Led by Coral Expeditions’ experienced Expedition Team and joined by award-winning Australian Geographic photographers and wildlife experts, the voyages will combine daily exploration with expert-led photography workshops, practical guidance and onboard storytelling. Guests will have the opportunity to refine their photography skills, learn new techniques and deepen their connection with the landscapes, habitats and species of the Kimberley.
A Lens on Nature: The Kimberley

The new departures, titled “A Lens on Nature: The Kimberley,” bring together two deeply aligned brands with a shared belief in the power of immersive nature experiences to inspire curiosity, creativity and care for the environment. By pairing Coral Expeditions’ small-ship access and expert expedition leadership with Australian Geographic’s storytelling and photographic expertise, the companies are creating a richly rewarding program for guests who want to see, learn and engage more deeply.
Expert Guidance and Photography Workshops

Photography has a unique ability to sharpen observation and foster a deeper connection to place. These voyages will give guests the opportunity to experience the Kimberley with time, purpose and expert guidance, while developing their skills in one of the most extraordinary natural settings in Australia. Guests will work alongside award-winning photographers and wildlife experts who will provide daily workshops, practical guidance and onboard storytelling to help refine their techniques.
Broader Partnership and Conservation Support

The new departures also extend the companies’ broader partnership that spans special interest voyages, support for the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year program, and a per-guest donation to Australian Geographic in support for its national conservancy program. This partnership reflects both organisations’ commitment to helping travellers experience wild places with greater attention, understanding and purpose.
Voyage Dates and Fares
The “A Lens on Nature: The Kimberley” voyages set sail from July 30 – August 6, 2027 and August 27 – September 3, 2027. Fares start from AU$9,400 per person, with capacity limited to just 60 guests per departure to ensure an intimate and personalised experience.
