Bonza B737-Max
Before launching commercial services, Bonza unveiled its full in-flight menu. More than forty items are available, focusing on classic Australian fare and aviation firsts, including alcohol-free beer, banana bread waffles, and snag-in-a-bag, all made by small and medium-sized Australian businesses.
In keeping with its largely Australian-centric marketing, the company has promised that all menu items will be sourced only from Australian sources and referred to as an “all-Aussie menu.”
Craft beer without alcohol is available at Bonza alongside the standard alcoholic selection. To Bonza’s knowledge, this is a first for the Australian airline business.
Bonza is again breaking tradition by doing away with onboard catering trolleys to assign individual cabin crew legends responsibility for particular rows of seats on each flight. This ensures that even passengers seated in the very back of the plane will be served before they can get their meal of choice before the rest of the passengers can get their meal of choice.
Passengers can use the Fly Bonza app to order and pay for their prefered snacks and drinks, which will then be brought directly to their seats.
Your Mates Brewing Co. on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, which boasts the country’s highest concentration of craft breweries, just launched its menu, which nods to the locals’ growing passion for the beverage.
Ballistic Beer Co., which gives to rescuing wounded turtles in the Whitsundays, and Spinifex Brewing Company, which donates a percentage of its revenues to veterans’ mental health, are just two examples of the local and good cause-focused beverages available on board.
Bonza’s legendary cabin crew will also be offering Heaps Normal Quiet XPA to cater to the growing demand for alcohol-free beverages.
Groundskeeper Willie, a company, headquartered on the Sunshine Coast, will supply cans of cold drip coffee to passengers flying on Bonza aircraft during the scorching summer mornings. This includes those going to destinations in Tropical North Queensland.
Sunshine Coast’s Happy Snack Company offers fava beans as a healthy option. Giant chocolate freckles from Mildura Chocolate Company are sure to put a smile on your face while also helping to fund programmes that provide training and employment to people who otherwise would be unable to do so due to disability or disadvantage.
Aussie Biscuits, a social venture in Forbes, regional NSW, provides jobs to persons with disabilities and makes affordable snacks.
“Our all-Aussie menu is something we are proud of,” said Bonza’s chief commercial officer, Carly Povey.
“Our A-team has built strong relationships with the suppliers of the items on our menu, and many of them are developing custom packaging solutions that will aid our efforts to decrease waste and weight onboard, thereby lowering our fuel costs and keeping our fares low.”
Sirromet Wines is one company that uses recycled plastic bottles (also lightweight and recyclable) for its red, white, sparkling, and rose wines. Small pouches of gin, vodka, and rum are being produced by Sunshine & Sons. They will be recycled through the RedCycle initiative.
According to Povey, vegan and vegetarian options abound, including sandwiches, brownies, and chips. Chappy’s Snacks is bringing their vegan-friendly kettle-cooked potato chips. In contrast, Ashgrove Cheese has brought their vegan and keto-friendly AmazeBalls Popped Cheese.
The menu for Bonza was released only a week after the airline revealed the name Sheila for its newest 737 MAX, which was selected by the Australian public.
