Atlas Adventurer unveils all‑new Asia & Africa season
Atlas Ocean Voyages has revealed the inaugural season of Atlas Adventurer, a new luxury expedition sailing yacht that will open up Asia and Africa to the brand for the first time. Launching in November 2028, the 400‑guest vessel will operate a series of immersive journeys from Kobe, Japan, to Athens, Greece, with itineraries spanning Japan, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and East and Southern Africa.
Across the 2028–2029 season, Atlas Adventurer will visit vibrant cultural hubs and remote wildlife‑rich shores in destinations such as Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, the Seychelles, Madagascar, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa. Each voyage is designed around Atlas’ signature Epicurean Expeditions and Cultural Experiences, blending regional cuisine, local traditions and small‑group exploration with the brand’s yachting‑style elegance.

Inaugural season highlights: Kobe to Athens
Atlas Adventurer’s inaugural season runs from 6 November 2028 in Kobe to late May 2029 in Athens, weaving a continuous arc from Northeast Asia to the Mediterranean. Early voyages focus on Japan and Southeast Asia, with itineraries such as Far East Mystique, Shinto Shores & Samurai Legacies, South China Sojourn, Holiday Expedition: Jewels of Southeast Asia, Island Treasures and The Coral Triangle, linking ports like Kobe, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Bali, Manila and Singapore.
From February 2029, the yacht transitions into the Indonesian archipelago and the Indian Ocean, sailing routes like Panoramas & Pagodas, The Sunda Passage, Crossroads of Southeast Asia and Isles of Spice & Sapphire Seas between Singapore, Bali, Phuket and Mahé. The season then shifts to East and Southern Africa, with itineraries including East African Isles, Swahili Coast, Cape Currents & Safari Shores, Wild Isles & African Grandeur and final grand voyage Sultans, Pharaohs & Empires from Mahé to Athens.
Immersive cultural and nature‑focused experiences
Atlas is positioning Atlas Adventurer as a platform for deep, place‑driven storytelling, with shore programs that showcase both headline sights and quieter, insider experiences. In Bangkok, guests might move from buzzing street markets to refined culinary tastings that unpack the balance of sweet, sour, salty and spice in Thai cuisine. In the Philippines, crystalline waters around Palawan and Puerto Princesa set the scene for snorkelling and kayaking in UNESCO‑protected marine environments, while Boracay offers powder‑soft beaches and vibrant local nightlife.
Along the African coasts, the tone becomes more wild and elemental. Guests can join marine safaris and whale‑watching in Mossel Bay, South Africa, or explore Nosy Be in Madagascar, meeting endemic lemur species, wandering through ylang‑ylang plantations and lush forests, and discovering rare island flora. Across the season, the aim is for each sailing to deliver meaningful, memory‑rich encounters, rather than just ticking off ports.
Extraordinary Expeditions: 40–128 night odysseys
For travellers who prefer extended, one‑off odysseys, Atlas has created a set of Extraordinary Expeditions aboard Atlas Adventurer, each 40 nights or longer and bundled with added inclusions such as private transfers, special events and commemorative gifts. These include:
- Apex of the East Indies – 40 nights from Bangkok to Singapore, weaving through some of Southeast Asia’s most coveted islands and straits
- East Africa & Asia Expedition – 42 nights from Bali to Mombasa, linking coral‑rich archipelagos with Indian Ocean isles and East African shores
- Silk & Sands Passage – 45 nights from Cape Town to Athens, joining Southern African coasts with the Red Sea and Eastern Mediterranean
- The Grand Odyssey Expedition – a headline 128‑night journey from Kobe to Cape Town, combining multiple itineraries into one sweeping Asia‑to‑Africa exploration
These longer sailings are designed to let guests settle into the yacht’s rhythm, experiencing whole regions in one seamless journey rather than piecing together multiple cruises.

To mark the launch, Atlas Ocean Voyages has rolled out an Explorer’s Choice Inaugural Offer exclusive to Atlas Adventurer’s first season.
