Tauck Adds Two New Riverboats to Award-Winning Fleet for 2027 Season

Tauck is set to expand its prestigious river cruising portfolio with the introduction of two new riverboats in 2027, responding to unprecedented guest demand and boosting capacity across two of Europe’s most popular river destinations—the Douro River in Portugal and the Seine River in France. This latest expansion follows the rollout of two new vessels in 2026, marking the largest growth in Tauck’s river fleet history with a remarkable 30% increase in overall capacity since 2025.

Growing Presence in Douro and Seine

Tauck’s commitment to offering intimate, personalised travel experiences means that even with expanded capacity, guest numbers onboard are carefully capped—from 84 to 130 guests depending on the ship—to preserve the atmosphere of exclusivity and connection.

The 125-metre Seine riverboat reflects the elegant design of the ms Serene, debuting in 2026, and offers a resort-style Sun Deck complete with swimming pool and full-service bar. New to the vessel is “The Retreat,” a wellness sanctuary on the Diamond Deck featuring panoramic river views, a fitness centre, massage room, and a café-style juice and snack bar.

Meanwhile, the 80-metre Douro riverboat will join its sister ship, ms Andorinha, navigating the Douro’s unique lock system with ease thanks to advanced hydraulic technology. Guests can dine in comfort at Arthur’s casual dining venue on the stern, enjoying uninterrupted 360-degree views of terraced vineyards and dramatic landscapes.

More than 75% of cabins across both new vessels are a spacious 225 square feet or larger, with 300-square-foot Category 5 Tauck Suites showcasing double French balconies, walk-in closets and king-size beds—all designed to maximise views of the passing countryside.
