Oceania Cruises, the world’s leading culinary and destination-focused cruise line, is partnering with Food & Wine to organise an Editor’s Cruise aboard its newly reimagined, 1,250-guest ship Riviera, featuring Food & Wine’s editor-in-chief, Hunter Lewis.
For lovers of food and drink, the exclusive cruise is a can’t-miss opportunity that will feature a cooking demonstration by Lewis, Oceania Cruises’ famous gala brunch, an exclusive Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve, and more. Additional special guests on board include J’nai Gaither, a Champagne, wine, and food writer extraordinaire, and Alex Prud’homme, a famed gourmet author and Julia Child’s great-nephew.
The Food & Wine Editor’s Cruise departs Barcelona on 11 September 2024. It explores epicurean attractions around the Mediterranean, including Saint-Tropez, Rome (Civitavecchia), and Naples, before arriving in Athens (Piraeus), Greece, on 21 September 2024.
Shipboard guest highlights will include two destination-focused Chef’s Market Dinners featuring locally inspired dishes made with ingredients sourced from the port of the day’s market, a special themed afternoon tea in Horizons, and Oceania Cruises’ famed gala brunch, which is typically reserved only for ship launches.
Guests may also book the indulgent Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve, which includes a different vintage of the legendary Champagne with each delicious dinner, exclusive wine-tasting events and bespoke culinary-focused shore excursions.
Oceania Cruises, the culinary leader in the cruise industry, has constantly raised and innovated in the food and beverage space. The brand’s culinary team is undoubtedly the best at sea, led by two Master Chefs of France, Alexis Quaretti, Senior Culinary Director, and Eric Barale, Vice President of Culinary.
“Oceania Cruises is a cruise line built by foodies, run by foodies, and for foodies, so the collaboration with Food & Wine is a natural one,” said Oceania Cruises President Frank A. Del Rio. “Both brands are powerhouses in the culinary space and cater to the most discerning clientele. Oceania Cruises has been dedicated to serving The Finest Cuisine at Sea for the past 20 years, so we are thrilled to join forces with the incredible team at Food & Wine.”
Hunter Lewis, Food & Wine’s editor-in-chief, said, “I’m looking forward to joining the standout team of Oceania Cruises’ chefs and sommeliers for this special Editor’s Cruise experience. “This is a one-of-a-kind way to share in Oceania Cruises’ commitment to culinary excellence and bring Food & Wine to life on board for the guests.”
