The Scenic Eclipse II Departs On Its Maiden Voyage

Scenic Luxury Cruises introduced a new luxurious yachting concept in 2019. The Scenic Eclipse claimed to be the world’s first exploration yacht, combining the features of a superyacht with the capabilities of an explorer. The Scenic Eclipse II, its sister ship, has set sail on its first voyage.

After a special ceremony, the Scenic Eclipse II left the shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia, last week. It then sailed along the Italian coast and farther into the Mediterranean, travelling almost 2,000 miles (4,000 km). The new ship will go on an 11-day journey after arriving in Lisbon, Portugal.

The voyage named “The Incredible Iberian Discovery” is the ship’s inaugural journey as one of the Scenic Discovery Yachts.

Scenic Eclipse II includes all of the innovations seen on the first ship in this series and a few extra luxurious features. Imagine an enormous spa that spans 550 square metres (5,920 square feet). This cutting-edge spa features various therapy rooms, saunas, an aromatherapy steam room with an ice fountain, temperature-controlled pools, lounges, and an outdoor terrace.

Guests onboard the new ship may also take culinary enjoyment to the next level, including immersive masterclasses, thanks to a fancy dining experience dubbed Chef’s Garden Epicure. The Owner’s Penthouse Suites and Spa Suites got additional enhancements, transforming their bathrooms into luxurious spas in their own right.

The Scenic Discovery Yachts blend ultra-luxurious design with technological advancements. They have a bolstered hull and are outfitted with forward bow thrusters and an electronic Azipod propulsion system.

They also have massive zero-speed stabilisers that are 50% larger than those on regular cruise ships. This eliminates the unpleasant impact of rolling motion when the ship is at anchor.

The Scenic Eclipse yachts also use a sophisticated dynamic positioning technology to guarantee stability without lowering the anchor – protecting the sensitive marine environment. Their modern engines run on low-sulphur gasoline in accordance with the most recent IMO (International Maritime Organisation) specifications. The vessels also have the best wastewater treatment plans.

The eight-deck Scenic Eclipse II can carry 228 guests, significantly more than the first Scenic Eclipse. Like the initial ship, it pampers the lucky passengers on board with a dedicated helicopter (with a luxurious cabin) and a customised Neptune submarine that can go 200 metres (656 feet) below the ocean’s surface.

The second Discovery Yacht began sea testing in February of this year and just started its inaugural voyage. During this April voyage, it will travel from Lisbon to Barcelona. Still, it will venture further, visiting many more amazing places such as Jamaica, Australia, and Tahiti.
