The company revealed that Scenic’s second Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse II, is “progressing as planned” and will make its first voyage in the next six months.
The ultra-luxury boat is scheduled to leave on its maiden voyage, an 11-day cruise from Lisbon to Barcelona called the Incredible Iberian Discovery, on 13 April 2023. The vessel features cutting-edge technology and a sleek, modern style.
The initial Discovery Yacht launched in August of 2019, and her sister ship, Scenic Eclipse II, followed in October of that year. Like Scenic Eclipse, the 114-suite, the 6-star vessel will include two helicopters and a Triton submarine which will be larger and able to accommodate eight passengers.
Scenic’s Vice President of Marine Operations, James Griffiths, said, “Scenic Eclipse II is being built to the very highest standards, so she is really built from the bottom up to operate in the most extreme environments in the world and includes all the latest technologies available. It’s safe to say that she can travel where most cruise ships can’t. Our guests may experience the ocean from both above and below the surface with us since we are the only operator to have a submarine and two permanently installed helicopters on board.
Griffiths claimed that “Scenic Eclipse” was the finest ultra-luxury yacht available for travel to any part of the globe.
The Senses Spa on the Scenic Eclipse II has been upgraded with new amenities such as an expanded steam room area with aromatherapy, an integrated ice fountain, and experiential showers.
The KLAFS custom salt treatment lounge in Scenic Eclipse II will have heated beds and aromatherapy scents for added relaxation of the mind, body, and spirit. A dedicated infrared ‘ocean view’ lounge with colour light therapy to energise and reinvigorate skin cells has also been introduced to the wellness area on board Scenic Eclipse II, expanding on the success of the state-of-the-art KLAFS Infrared chairs in the Senses Spa on Scenic Eclipse I, which was designed to relieve back pain and encourage muscle relaxation.
In addition to the big circular pool and relaxing areas found on Deck 10 of the Scenic Eclipse II, there is a new bar with indoor and outdoor seating.
Scenic Eclipse II joins the fleet of Discovery Yachts, expanding their global reach to include up to 357 ports in 85 voyages to 54 countries across all seven continents. In 2024, visitors will be inspired by the luxury rooms to explore destinations beyond the reach of most tourists, such as Australia, Indonesia, and the Pacific.
