As the debut voyage of the Silver Endeavor approaches, Silversea Cruises has announced the line-up of specialists who will be on board.
On her debut voyage, Silver Endeavour will set sail from King George Island in a clockwise direction on 21 November 2022, and her passengers will have the opportunity to learn about the white continent from historians, marine biologists, anthropologists, naturalists, filmmakers, and more.
The seven-day fly cruise will be led by Conrad Combrink, Silversea’s senior vice president of adventure, destination, and itinerary management, in honour of the historic event.
Conrad Combrink said that Silversea’s polar offering, already the most varied in ultra-luxury adventure cruising, was made even more so by the addition of Silver Endeavour.
This will be my 78th trip to the continent, and I can’t wait to share it with our guests when we join the Silver Endeavour at King George Island and fly on a chartered DAP Antarctic Airways flight straight into Antarctica to spend the next week exploring the icy continent.
During Silver Endeavour’s inaugural season, our top-tier expedition team will craft an unforgettable itinerary highlighting the continent’s most breathtaking icy landscapes and captivating wildlife. Captain Niklas Peterstam and his crew, who have been at the ship’s helm since September 2021, will ensure that guests always receive first-rate service.
When Silver Endeavour sets sail for the first time on 21 November 2022, passengers will have the option of flying directly to Antarctica through Antarctica Bridge, the cruise line’s fly-cruise product, and boarding the ship at King George Island.
Tourists may visit Antarctic Sound, where they may see massive icebergs as they reach the northernmost point of the Antarctic Peninsula. As part of the adventure, they will get to go on guided hikes, Zodiac boat tours, and kayaking trips to get a feel for the area. The Antarctic Peninsula will be explored over the course of many days, during which time whales, a wide variety of birds, and seals are likely to be spotted.
Silversea will visit the South Shetland Islands, following in the footsteps of legendary explorers like James Cook and Robert Falcon Scott, before bringing passengers back to King George Island for a trip back to Punta Arenas.
