2026 Polar Seasons Showcase Silversea’s Strength
Silversea has officially begun its 2026 Alaska and Arctic seasons, underscoring the brand’s reputation as a leader in immersive luxury cruising across two of the world’s most remote regions. On 14 May, guests embarked on the first of 30 Alaska voyages, followed the next day by the start of a 21‑voyage Arctic program that stretches deep into the High North.
Across both deployments, Silversea focuses on small‑ship access, longer time ashore and expert‑led exploration, combining classic scenic cruising with less‑visited destinations, zodiac landings and rich wildlife viewing.

Expert-Led Arctic Exploration on Silver Endeavour and Silver Wind
Silversea’s 2026 Arctic season spans 21 voyages aboard Silver Endeavour and Silver Wind, covering four countries and 55 destinations and sailing as far as 80 degrees north. Guests explore polar icons such as Svalbard, Disko Bay and Ilulissat, with some itineraries venturing along the legendary Northwest Passage.
Each voyage is led by a multi‑disciplinary expedition team of naturalists, historians, glaciologists and marine biologists who accompany guests on daily zodiac landings, guided hikes, kayaking and wildlife‑spotting outings. Travellers may encounter polar bears, Arctic foxes, musk oxen, walruses, seals, whales and vast seabird colonies, with the chance to experience the Midnight Sun or the first returns of the Aurora Borealis against glaciers and tundra.
Small Ships and Closer Encounters in Alaska
In Alaska, Silversea’s 2026 program features 30 voyages between Vancouver and Seward operated by Silver Whisper and Silver Moon, two of the smallest ships in the region. The itineraries visit 13 destinations, pairing marquee ports with off‑the‑beaten‑path stops for a more intimate perspective on the Last Frontier.
Guests sail past towering glaciers and along wildlife‑rich waterways while calling at classics like Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Icy Strait Point and Valdez, alongside lesser‑known spots such as Pine Island, British Columbia, and narrow transits through Seymour Narrows. Pre‑cruise land programs—including a five‑day journey through Anchorage, Denali National Park and Alaska’s iconic rail routes—allow guests to extend their time in the state before embarking in Seward.
Looking Ahead to 2027: More Depth in Alaska and the Arctic
Silversea plans to expand its polar footprint in 2027, with 36 Alaska voyages and 19 Arctic itineraries tailored to showcase each region in greater depth. Notable sample voyages include:
- Seward to Vancouver, 3–10 June 2027 (Silver Moon) – a 7‑night Alaska sailing through the Inside Passage, calling at Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway, with glacier viewing at sites such as Hubbard Glacier.
- Vancouver to Seward, 19–26 August 2027 (Silver Moon) – an immersive reverse route featuring Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Sitka and scenic glacier cruising in areas like Tracy Arm before arriving in Seward.
- Longyearbyen to Reykjavik, 19–31 July 2027 (Silver Endeavour) – a 12‑day expedition into Svalbard and East Greenland’s fjords and ice‑scapes, with opportunities to spot polar bears, walruses and seabird colonies.
- Longyearbyen to Reykjavik, 11–28 August 2027 (Silver Endeavour) – an extended 17‑day voyage combining Svalbard’s wildlife with deeper exploration of Greenland’s remote communities and fjords en route to Iceland.
These itineraries continue Silversea’s strategy of pairing classic highlights with more remote landings and multi‑day region focuses.
Why Silversea’s Polar Offering Stands Out
Silversea emphasises its “destination leadership” in both Alaska and the Arctic, backed by experience in more than 900 global destinations, including both polar regions. On these voyages, guests enjoy the line’s hallmark small‑ship luxuries—all‑suite accommodation, butler service, inclusive dining and beverages—layered with expedition features such as onboard experts, daily briefings and flexible routing to optimise wildlife and weather windows.
Whether it is cruising glacier‑lined waterways to out‑of‑the‑way spots like Pine Island or navigating ice‑strewn Arctic fjords in zodiacs, the focus remains on true discovery at every turn, supported by the comfort and service of a top‑tier luxury brand.
