Running from June 2026 through 2027, the new and enhanced offerings are designed to help guests see, taste and feel Greenland in closer partnership with local communities.
Developed hand in hand with Greenlandic community partners, every experience is guided by local expertise and crafted to create meaningful connections with people, traditions, landscapes and stories on the world’s largest island. Culinary Discovery – The Taste of Greenland Returns

Following a successful debut in 2025, HX Expeditions’ Greenlandic culinary programme returns across nine Greenland sailings in 2026 on MS Fram, MS Roald Amundsen, MS Spitsbergen and MS Fridtjof Nansen.
Created in partnership with Greenlandic chef Inunnguaq Hegelund, the programme showcases the rich and diverse flavours of Greenlandic cuisine, celebrating Arctic ingredients, regional suppliers and culinary storytelling rooted in local tradition. Guests can expect a dynamic, ever‑evolving dining experience at sea, with visiting chefs from across Greenland rotating throughout the season.
Key culinary features include:
- Four‑course Greenlandic tasting menu crafted by Hegelund, spotlighting authentic Arctic ingredients elevated with modern techniques
- Rotating guest chefs from across Greenland acting as culinary ambassadors and bringing their own regional perspectives on board

Star Chefs Showcasing Modern Greenlandic Cuisine

Throughout the 2026 Greenland season, guests will encounter a line‑up of influential Greenlandic chefs across MS Fram, MS Roald Amundsen, MS Spitsbergen and MS Fridtjof Nansen on a rotating schedule.
Featured chefs include:
- Inunnguaq Hegelund (June–September) – Founder of Arctic Food by I and one of Greenland’s most influential culinary voices, known for reimagining Arctic ingredients through a contemporary lens while staying rooted in tradition
- Laasi Biilmann (June–August) – Award‑winning chef recognised for an innovative approach to traditional Greenlandic cuisine, elevating local ingredients on the global stage
- Eli Nuka Johansson (August–September) – An emerging talent blending native ingredients with global inspiration, focusing on seasonal, locally sourced produce
- Heidi Andersen (August–September) – A chef deeply connected to Greenlandic food culture, showcasing the authentic taste of Greenland through dishes that reflect heritage and a strong local commitment
These collaborations ensure the culinary programme remains authentic, locally led and constantly evolving.
New Tide to Table Experience on MS Fridtjof Nansen
New for 2026 and exclusive to MS Fridtjof Nansen, HX Expeditions is launching Tide to Table, an immersive fjord‑to‑plate experience that places Greenland’s food culture at the heart of the journey.
Guests will:
- Join local fishermen in the fjords to catch cod using traditional Inuit techniques still practised today
- Observe halibut boats at work, gaining an authentic window into Greenland’s fishing industry
- Return to Ilulissat for a traditional kaffemik, a local social gathering centred on coffee, cake and community, hosted in a Greenlandic home
- Conclude the day with an exclusive chef‑prepared dinner at Lindström, the ship’s fine dining restaurant, where freshly caught seafood anchors a curated tasting menu paired with Austrian wines from HX partner Weingut Regele
Indicative dishes may include halibut tartare, shrimp bisque, baked halibut with Jerusalem artichokes, breaded cod with root vegetables and a modern interpretation of apple cake with codskin tuile.
The experience is limited to 12 guests, with prices from €351 pre‑sale (from €386 onboard), and is available on MS Fridtjof Nansen sailings from 13 June 2026.
Into the Elements: Greenland Experience – A Multiday Wilderness Immersion

HX Expeditions is also introducing Into the Elements: Greenland Experience, a bold new multiday small‑group adventure in South Greenland crafted with a local operator and Greenlandic guides.
Designed for guests who want to go far beyond a standard expedition hike, this experience includes:
- A 6 km introductory hike through South Greenland’s dramatic landscapes
- A science‑focused boat journey, exploring local natural systems and fjord environments
- A shorter hike to a remote base camp that offers more glamping than camping, with toilets and shower facilities
- An overnight stay with storytelling hosted by a local guide
- A 7.5 km ascent across gravel paths to a series of spectacular waterfalls
- A 7.5 km return hike to the collection point to complete the journey
Limited to nine guests plus a team expert, Into the Elements is priced from €1500 per person and is available exclusively on MS Roald Amundsen Arctic Canada and Greenland sailings from 21 September 2026.
This deeply immersive journey is aimed at travellers seeking to experience the raw beauty of South Greenland and connect with all the elements of the Arctic environment in a more intensive way.

Alongside the headline culinary and wilderness offerings, HX Expeditions has confirmed a series of additional new Greenland experiences for the 2026/27 seasons.

- New boat cruises to the Ikka Fjords, giving guests the chance to witness the rare Ikka columns, unique mineral formations rising from the seabed, within a dramatic fjord setting
- Two kayaking options – Discovery Kayaking and Sea Kayaking – with the expanded sea kayaking programme offering more opportunities to paddle through pristine fjords and ice‑strewn waters
- Guided walks led by local Inuit partners, designed to foster a deeper cultural connection and provide authentic insight into Greenlandic life, traditions and landscapes
- New boat excursions in Disko Bay, offering a more intimate way to explore one of Greenland’s most remarkable regions, with local expertise spotlighting wildlife, geology and coastal scenery

All new Greenland experiences are covered by the HX Greenland Promise, a guest protection policy that offers added confidence and flexibility when booking Greenland expeditions.
The Greenland Promise is designed to reassure guests if circumstances beyond the company’s control affect their scheduled voyage. In the unlikely event that an HX Greenland cruise is cancelled or a guest’s government advises against travel, travellers are offered flexible rebooking options and may receive an additional Future Cruise Credit or refund, according to published terms.
