Velocity Frequent Flyer, in collaboration with AGL, has launched a groundbreaking partnership that promises to reward millions of Australians. This alliance allows Velocity’s nearly 12 million members and AGL’s 4.3 million customers to earn Velocity Points through AGL electricity or gas plans. These points can be redeemed for flights, holiday packages, household items, and more, offering a new way to gain value from everyday expenses.
To commemorate the partnership, AGL customers in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia who switch to the AGL Velocity offer by 30 June 2024 can earn up to 35,000 Velocity Points over 12 months. In Western Australia, AGL customers switching to the AGL Velocity offer for gas can earn up to 12,500 Velocity Points in the same period.
35,000 Velocity Points could secure up to five one-way domestic Economy Lite flights with Virgin Australia or be used for various items through the Velocity Reward Store, including Myer and Luxury Escapes products.
Here’s how customers can earn Velocity Points with AGL:
- New and Moving Customers (Electricity and Gas): Receive 30,000 Velocity Points immediately and an additional 5,000 Points after 12 months.
- New and Moving Customers (Electricity Only): Earn 20,000 Velocity Points upfront and 2,500 Points after a year.
- New and Moving Customers (Gas Only): Get 10,000 Velocity Points initially and 2,500 Points after 12 months.
- Existing AGL Customers: Switch to the AGL Velocity Offer and receive 3,000 Velocity Points per product.
Nick Rohrlach, CEO of Velocity Frequent Flyer, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the added value for members in the current economic climate. “This partnership with AGL empowers our members to transform their energy plans into valuable rewards,” said Rohrlach.
AGL’s Chief Customer Officer Jo Egan echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the partnership’s alignment with customer priorities, particularly in travel. “We’re eager to see our customers reap the benefits of this partnership and look forward to exploring sustainability initiatives together,” stated Egan.
As one of the largest loyalty programs in Australia, Velocity Frequent Flyer continues to innovate, offering its members more opportunities to earn and redeem points in meaningful ways. This partnership with AGL is a strategic step towards enhancing the program’s offerings and solidifying its position as a leader in airline loyalty programs.
