Turkish Airlines has made headlines with its largest-ever Boeing widebody order, agreeing to purchase up to 75 787 Dreamliners. The landmark deal, confirmed by Boeing, features 35 of the popular 787-9, 15 of the larger 787-10 models, and options for 25 additional Dreamliners as the airline accelerates its growth and modernises its fleet. In a double move, Turkish Airlines also announced its intention to acquire up to 150 more Boeing 737 MAX jets—cementing its place as one of the world’s leading carriers and doubling its Boeing fleet as it expands its network.
This new order supports over 123,000 jobs across the United States and signals the airline’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence. Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, described the agreement as “a reflection of our leadership in the industry as well as our dedication to innovation and operational excellence.” The addition of these advanced aircraft will be key in advancing Turkish Airlines’ 2033 Vision to grow its fleet to 800 planes.
With more than 200 Boeing aircraft already connecting passengers to more countries than any other airline, Turkish Airlines will leverage the greater passenger and cargo capacity of the 787-10 model, plus improved fuel efficiency on long-haul routes between Istanbul and major destinations in the US, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Passengers will benefit from the Dreamliner’s renowned comfort: larger windows, a lower cabin altitude, and advanced turbulence mitigation technology for a smoother, more relaxing flight.

Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, affirms, “We are honoured that Turkish Airlines has once again chosen the 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX to power its future growth.” With more than 1,200 Dreamliners delivered globally and the model serving half a million passengers daily, the partnership underscores Turkish Airlines’ focus on comfort, efficiency, and a truly global reach.
Boeing’s ties with Türkiye extend over eight decades, with investments in supply chain and aerospace innovation contributing nearly 5,000 jobs locally.
