PONANT has unveiled an ambitious new chapter with the launch of its PONANT YACHTING brand and the addition of a new luxury vessel, forging an exciting future for luxury sailing enthusiasts. As a travel blogger passionate about the intersection of exclusivity, sophistication, and responsible tourism, it’s inspiring to see pioneers like PONANT committing to elevated guest experiences and sustainable practices in the world of yachting.
PONANT YACHTING: A Vision of Exclusive Sailing
September 2025 marks a significant milestone for PONANT Explorations Group as it expands its luxury sailing portfolio through the announcement of PONANT YACHTING, a dedicated commercial brand built for travellers who crave intimate, bespoke sea voyages. This new brand exemplifies PONANT’s philosophy of combining the thrill of sailing with personalised service, offering a tailor-made experience where everything from the itinerary to the gastronomy is meticulously crafted to guests’ desires.
The Spirit of Ponant II: Expanding the Fleet
To further enrich its offering, PONANT has commissioned the Spirit of Ponant II, a cutting-edge luxury catamaran built by Lagoon, the renowned world leader in sailing catamarans. Scheduled to join the fleet in late 2026 and set to operate out of French Polynesia, this vessel will be the 22nd addition to PONANT’s fleet. The Spirit of Ponant II belongs to the new Lagoon EIGHTY 2 series, embodying contemporary design, exceptional comfort, and French craftsmanship.
Bespoke, Intimate Voyages for Families and Friends

PONANT YACHTING offers a distinct approach to luxury: ultra-exclusive catamaran voyages limited to just 9 to 12 guests per vessel, with a dedicated crew delivering all-inclusive excellence—private itineraries, refined gastronomy, curated wine and cocktail selections, and a suite of bespoke activities. Adventurous travellers can enjoy stand-up paddleboarding, snorkelling, water skiing, wing foiling, and even novel experiences like Tiwal sailing (inflatable dinghy) or Sublue diving (underwater scooter).
By late 2026, three luxury catamarans—Spirit of Ponant, La Désirade, and Spirit of Ponant II—will sail exclusive itineraries across the Mediterranean, Seychelles, Caribbean, and Polynesia, accessing secluded anchorages and idyllic waters only possible by sail.
French Excellence and Sustainable Ambition

Spirit of Ponant II will be built in France and supported by distinguished partners including Lagoon, the Bénéteau Group, and Sailoé, ensuring every aspect of the voyage upholds the standards of French-style excellence and advances the mission of more sustainable luxury tourism. This cooperative approach reflects PONANT’s dedication to redefining what it means to travel responsibly—balancing indulgence with stewardship for tomorrow’s explorers.
