If you thought it was hard to travel in 2020 and hoped the new year would bring about new brighter hopes to travel, you are about to be disappointed.
Governments around the world and state governments in Australia are more than ever focused on bringing the pandemic under control, which with newer highly contagious strains of COVID-19 is much more complicated. This has put in jeopardy reopening plans in countries around the world. In fact, many places in Europe and the Middle East, have reported the new strains of coronavirus which has prompted the shutdown of air travel entirely.
Many countries have imposed additional restrictions on international travel with new testing and quarantine requirements.
All this is happening as there is growing talk of vaccine passports for travel and the government’s strains to rollout vaccinations to fight against the spread of the novel coronavirus.
So, what is all this doing to those of us who were hoping to plan a trip this year? For many, it has gotten us pushing the pause button until the dust again settles. While the biggest decision in 2020 may have been when and where it felt safe enough to travel, in 2021 there are new layers of complexity to unravel.
But if you are still willing to travel, you can often find great deals within Australia and if you bold enough to take the risk and plan an international trip for either late this year or early 2022 with the hope that borders will be open then, then you can also find great international airfares.
Hopefully, the soon to be rolled vaccination campaign will make travel easy once again.
