Emirates is set to increase its services between Dubai and Melbourne with the introduction of a third non-stop service starting from 30 March 2025. This new service will be operated by a newly retrofitted four-class Emirates Boeing 777-300ER, equipped with the airline’s award-winning Premium Economy product and latest generation Business class seats.
A New Era of Travel Comfort
The third non-stop daily flight will provide more convenient schedules and options for travellers, with unrivalled connectivity via Dubai to 27 European cities, including London, Paris, and Frankfurt. Emirates currently operates two non-stop daily flights between Dubai and Melbourne using four-class Airbus A380s and a daily flight that connects Dubai to Melbourne via Singapore with a Boeing 777-300ER. The Singapore-Melbourne operations will cease on 30 March 2025 to accommodate the new direct Dubai-Melbourne flight and a fourth Dubai-Singapore service.
Starting from 30 March 2025, the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER will be deployed on flights EK404/405. Flight EK404 will depart Dubai at 21:15 hrs and arrive in Melbourne at 17:40 hrs the following day. The return flight EK405 will depart Melbourne at 23:55 hrs and arrive in Dubai at 07:00 hrs the next day.

Upgraded Aircraft Features
The newly refurbished Boeing 777-300ER features:
- 8 First Class Suites
- 40 Business Class seats
- 24 Premium Economy seats
- 256 Economy Class seats
Emirates’ Premium Economy cabins were named ‘Best in Class’ at the 2024 Business Traveller Asia-Pacific awards. The cream leather seats offer 6-way adjustable headrests, a 38-inch pitch, and a recline of 8 inches for extra space and comfort. The Business Class seats convert to flat beds, recline up to 78.6 inches, and provide aisle access with a four-abreast layout. Each seat includes a personal mini-bar, dining table, multiple charging outlets, and a personal 23-inch HD screen.
Restoring Pre-Pandemic Capacity
Emirates is also reinstating its second Perth service from 1 December 2024, bringing the total weekly seats to and from the city to nearly 12,000. This will further strengthen trade links between Western Australia and the world. Emirates’ flight EK424 will depart Dubai at 09:15 hrs, arriving in Perth at 00:10 hrs, while the return flight EK425 will depart Perth at 06:00 hrs, arriving in Dubai at 13:10 hrs.
On 28 October, Emirates resumed its Adelaide services, boosting visitation to South Australia from Dubai and key inbound markets. The airline now operates 77 weekly services to and from five Australian gateways: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. This progressive resumption of operations boosts tourism, fuels economic activity, and attracts business investment.
Ongoing Commitment to Australia
Emirates has been committed to Australia for nearly three decades, employing hundreds of Australians globally and locally. The Emirates Group has a national footprint in aviation and tourism businesses in Australia. It has invested over $230 million into sponsorships across sports and arts, including the Australian Open, Collingwood Football Club, and Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
The recent signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Australia enhances trade, private-sector collaboration, and investment flows. With the ability to carry more than 2,350 tonnes of cargo weekly in and out of Australia, Emirates is well-positioned to contribute to trade development between the two nations.
Expansive Network and Partnership with Qantas
Emirates and Qantas customers have access to over 120 codeshare destinations, including 60 points across Australia and New Zealand, thanks to a 10-year codeshare partnership. This collaboration has seen more than 15 million passengers carried across 543,000 flights in the last decade.
