Circa Circus to Entice Cunard Passengers During the Queen Elizabeth’s 2023/24 Homeport Season, Circa will perform a 6-week residence on board the beautiful Queen Elizabeth when the ship travels through Australian and New Zealand waters in early 2024.
Circa has played in front of over 1.5 million people in over 40 countries and six continents, receiving standing ovations, rave reviews, and sold-out houses. Circa is at the vanguard of Australia’s new generation of contemporary circus, demonstrating how extreme physicality can produce compelling performances. It continues to push the frontiers of the art form, blending movements, dance, theatre, and circus.
“The cooperation with Circa promises to be a fantastic treat for our Australian and New Zealand guests. It demonstrates our aim to work with world-leading and cutting-edge partners to inspire and excite guests while they’re on board.”
“It’s in the Cunard’s DNA to provide the best entertainment at sea, whether it’s West End-style performances, carefully curated event journeys featuring global talent and partners, or renowned high-profile speakers. The Cunard experience is based on premium entertainment, exceptional fine dining, art deco-inspired public spaces, and outstanding White Star Service. Cunard also provides a variety of signature experiences and services that differentiate our brand, such as daily Afternoon Tea, Gala Balls, and our Grills Suites with butler service,” said Matt Gleaves, Cunard’s VP of Commercial for North America and Australasia.
Circa’s new productions will be customized to Queen Elizabeth’s grand Royal Court Theatre, delivering a one-of-a-kind experience. Circa will entertain guests onboard the 2,069-passenger ship from 1 February to 10 March 2024.
“Circa has performed in some of the most prestigious venues in the world, from the stages of the Southbank Centre London, the Paris Philharmonie and the Sydney Opera House, and we are now delighted to partner with Cunard to bring Circa aboard the iconic Queen Elizabeth. “This six-week residency brings together two world-renowned brands, and we are thrilled to be working with the team at Cunard to deliver what will surely be an unforgettable experience for their guest. When the Queen Elizabeth comes to our waters next year, Australian audiences will be the first to see this cooperation.” Circa Executive Director Shaun Comerford stated.
