Cathay Pacific is redefining premium air travel with the launch of its highly anticipated Aria Suite Business Class on selected Sydney-Hong Kong flights. Marking the debut of this cutting-edge cabin outside Europe, Sydney passengers are among the first to experience a new era in luxury travel aboard the airline’s retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
A New Benchmark for Comfort and Style
The Aria Suite delivers a reimagined cabin experience where every detail speaks to artistry, innovation, and comfort. The suites feature a spacious 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring every passenger enjoys direct aisle access. Retaining Cathay Pacific’s iconic reverse herringbone seat arrangement, the new design introduces thoughtful enhancements, including privacy doors, wireless charging consoles, and soft LED lighting for a personalised atmosphere.
Each suite also boasts a state-of-the-art 24-inch 4K entertainment screen, the largest ever offered by the airline, elevating in-flight entertainment to new heights. Luxurious bedding, abundant stowage, and refined finishes reflect Cathay Pacific’s commitment to quality and its dedication to providing an unparalleled Business Class experience.
A Tribute to Hong Kong
In line with its theme of “Where Artistry Takes Flight,” Cathay Pacific honours its home city by incorporating unique pieces of artwork created by Hong Kong-connected artists into every Aria Suite cabin. This thoughtful touch transforms the space into more than just a travel experience—it’s a celebration of the airline’s heritage.
Sydney as a Key Market
Cathay Pacific has chosen Sydney as the second long-haul route to feature the Aria Suite, following its initial rollout on the London-Hong Kong route in January. This decision underscores the importance of the Australian market, as highlighted by Frosti Lau, Cathay Pacific’s Regional General Manager for Southwest Pacific.
“We are thrilled to bring the Aria Suite to Sydney,” Lau shares. “This incredible product is a testament to our focus on providing unparalleled comfort and service. We understand that our customers seek not only comfort but a place to relax and truly enjoy the experience of flying.”

Investing in the Future of Travel
The introduction of the Aria Suite is part of Cathay Pacific’s HK$100 billion investment in fleet upgrades, cabin products, airport lounges, and digital innovation. This strategic vision aligns with the airline’s goal of becoming one of the world’s leading service brands.
In addition to the Aria Suite, the retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER also features brand-new Premium Economy and refreshed Economy cabins. Premium Economy passengers can enjoy enhanced privacy, modern fixtures, and 15.6-inch 4K widescreen TVs with Bluetooth audio pairing, while Economy offers thoughtful upgrades designed for comfort and convenience.
What’s Next?
Cathay Pacific’s retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER currently operates five weekly flights between Sydney and Hong Kong, with the Aria Suite set to be regularly featured on flight CX162 from early April. Whether travelling for business or leisure, passengers can now immerse themselves in a premium experience that combines innovation, elegance, and the warm hospitality Cathay Pacific is known for.
As Sydney celebrates 50 years of direct service to Hong Kong, the introduction of the Aria Suite is a fitting milestone—ushering in a new chapter for long-haul luxury travel in Australia.
