Cathay Pacific has unveiled the next chapter in its loyalty journey with an evolved Cathay membership programme, designed to deliver a smoother, simpler, and better experience for all members. Launching officially on 1 January 2027, with a seamless transition period starting 1 January 2026, the updated programme introduces streamlined progression, enhanced flexibility, and a host of exclusive privileges across all tiers — Green, Silver, Gold, and Diamond.
A Simpler, More Rewarding Journey
Cathay’s reimagined membership structure focuses on clarity and ease, offering a faster path to status upgrades and a richer experience for frequent travellers.
Key highlights include:
- Smoother status progression: Members will no longer see their Status Points reset after an upgrade, allowing multiple status advancements within a single year. Every point earned now contributes toward the next milestone — making it easier to stay motivated and continuously rewarded.
- Standardised membership cycle: Instead of individual rolling periods, all members will now follow a unified calendar-year cycle (1 January – 31 December). This change simplifies planning across family and corporate travel, ensuring everyone can track progress with clarity.
- Status Points rollover: Gold members and above can roll over up to 50% of their excess Status Points into the following year. This thoughtful feature empowers members to maintain or reach higher tiers effortlessly while enjoying consistent access to privileges.
Introducing a New Tier of Excellence – Diamond Exec
Cathay is also introducing an exclusive elite tier: Diamond Exec. Members who earn 2,400 Status Points within a single year will unlock this new level of recognition, designed for those who expect the extraordinary.
Diamond Exec members will enjoy:
- A dedicated Relationship Manager for personalised service and tailored travel solutions.
- Bespoke privileges that redefine luxury and convenience across every journey.
- A premium suite of benefits ensuring unmatched exclusivity both in the air and on the ground.
Celebrating Loyalty: Complimentary Diamond Membership Year
Long-standing Diamond members will also be rewarded like never before. Those who have maintained Diamond status for at least five cumulative years can now earn a complimentary Diamond membership year for every 6,000 lifetime Status Points accumulated.
There’s no expiry date and no cap on the number of complimentary years that can be earned. Members can even choose when to redeem this benefit — ensuring flexibility during quieter travel periods or when they wish to enjoy top-tier privileges with family and friends.
A Programme Built Around You
Vivian Lo, Cathay’s Director Customer Lifestyle, explained the ethos behind the redesign:
“We are evolving the Cathay membership programme with our current and future members in mind, offering them a smoother, simpler, and better membership experience. By simplifying the path to higher status and providing greater flexibility, members can look forward to a more rewarding journey that truly elevates their lives.”
The revamped Cathay membership programme is the next step in Cathay’s mission to enrich the customer lifestyle experience, bridging travel and living in a way that truly celebrates global connection and Hong Kong’s exceptional hospitality.
