British Airways has significantly expanded the selection of content accessible to customers via its inflight entertainment system. This enhancement includes diverse fresh content, such as box sets, movies, podcasts, children’s programmes, and more.
British Airways anticipates over one million customers will engage with the in-flight entertainment options on its long-haul flights this month. From August, passengers will have access to a wide selection of content, including over 75 complete boxsets and 20 renowned franchises.
Customers eager to indulge in a movie marathon can select from a diverse collection of over 50 recently released films, including titles like Paint, Love Again, and The Covenant. Additionally, British Airways offers an assortment of exclusive content through its partnership with Paramount+, such as Rabbit Hole: The Algorithms of Control, The Flatshare, and Grease: Rise of The Pink Ladies. Movie box sets allow customers to enjoy the complete Harry Potter series, Indiana Jones, and Mission Impossible in one convenient package. This will enable individuals to enjoy a marathon viewing experience of these beloved blockbuster franchises from the comfort of their seats.
Music enthusiasts can indulge in over 770 audio pieces, including the highly acclaimed NewlyWeds podcast featuring Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo. The airline offers a selection of British Original content for customers who appreciate light-hearted comedy. This includes the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022 highlights, such as The Fringe, Fame and Me, and Just for Laughs.
“We know just how important it is to provide a great range of entertainment for our customers to enjoy during their journeys, and it’s one of the things they look forwards to most when they fly with us, so we’ve been working hard to source new content, doubling the amount available at our customers’ fingertips,” said British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, Calum Laming.
“We’ve partnered with brilliant businesses like Paramount+ to establish a dedicated British Original channel. There’s something for everyone to enjoy during their flight this summer, from a freshly released blockbuster film to the latest podcast.”
Families travelling in August can choose from content designed just for children, including more than 26 Kid’s Classics such as Scoob!, Peppa Pig, and Paw Patrol. In addition, the airline has added 20 new programmes to the new ‘Summer Fun’ category, including The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Trolls, as well as a brand-new Lego category, ideal for breaking up a long flight.
Customers who want to stream entertainment on their devices can also use the airline’s WiFi access, which comes in various packages, including texting and ‘browse and stream’ options. The airline is gradually implementing WiFi across its long- and short-haul fleets, with the bulk of its aircraft now connected.
