The world’s top-50 beaches have been named for 2021, with an Australian gem nabbing the prestigious runner-up spot.
Queensland’s Whitehaven Beach scarcely needs an introduction on home shores, but now the tourist hotspot has been recognised by global travel authority Big 7 Travel.
The brand has released their annual ‘Best Beaches in the World’ list, ranking a diverse and stunning range of beaches ranging from pink-sand stunners to turquoise-rimmed best-kept secrets.
When citing why the judges chose Whitehaven, they cited the famous beach’s soft sand, naming it “among the purest in the world”.
And it’s not the only photogenic beach featured on the wanderlust-worthy list.
