In an industry-defining moment, Star Alliance has once again claimed aviation’s highest honours at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards, reinforcing its role as the gold standard for global airline connectivity. On June 17, 2025, Star Alliance was voted the World’s Best Airline Alliance for the fourth consecutive year, with this year’s victory marking its 13th win out of the 18 times the category has existed—an accolade befitting its reputation for seamless travel.
Lounge Excellence at Paris Charles de Gaulle
Further triumph followed, as the newly inaugurated Star Alliance Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Lounge retained its title as the World’s Best Airline Alliance Lounge for the second straight year. Since opening in October 2023, the lounge has set a new benchmark for comfort and service, confirming that Star Alliance delivers excellence both in the air and on the ground.
Global Teamwork and Industry Recognition
Accepting the honours at the Paris Air Show, CEO Theo Panagiotoulias remarked, “This continued recognition is incredibly significant to all of us at Star Alliance. It reflects the trust millions of customers place in our member airlines, connected by a rhythm, to create smoother journeys every day.” He lauded the shared commitment of every employee across the network, championing a future of ever-higher standards.
Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, praised the alliance’s sustained progress: “We are pleased to recognise Star Alliance as the World’s Best Airline Alliance, and for having the Best Airline Alliance Lounge at Paris Charles de Gaulle. These awards speak to the alliance’s continued efforts to create a joined-up experience that appeals to today’s international passenger, both in the air and on the ground.”
Stellar Performance Across the Network
This year, the prestige extended beyond the alliance itself. Fourteen Star Alliance member airlines took home a combined total of 62 top honours in individual Skytrax categories, underscoring the standard of excellence delivered across the world’s most comprehensive route network.
The Oscars of Aviation
The Skytrax World Airline Awards, often regarded as the “Oscars of the aviation industry,” are based on millions of surveys from international travellers. With more than 22 million eligible entries collected between September 2024 and May 2025, this year’s honours highlight the enduring popularity and trust that Star Alliance inspires among global passengers seeking a truly premium travel experience.
With vision, innovation, and teamwork, Star Alliance continues to define the future of intercontinental air travel—making journeys smoother for millions every day.
