Vikings proudly announced the delivery of its newest ship, the Viking Sobek, at a ceremony in Cairo, Egypt. This 82-guest vessel joins Viking’s esteemed fleet on the Nile River, offering the popular 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary¹.

Named after the ancient Egyptian crocodile god, the Viking Sobek is a state-of-the-art vessel—owned and operated by Viking—specifically built to cruise the Nile. Designed with a clean, elegant Scandinavian aesthetic, which Viking is known for, she offers the ultimate comfort.

Elegant Design and Fleet Expansion

Inspired by Viking’s award-winning river and ocean ships, the Viking Sobek features the elegant Scandinavian design Viking is known for. It joins sister ships like the Viking Osiris, Viking Aton, and Viking Hathor³. Viking plans to expand its Nile fleet to 10 ships by 2026, with four more vessels on the way.

Pharaohs & Pyramids Itinerary
