With the release of new family-friendly activities, Disney Cruise Line has brought the colourful worlds of Encanto and Soul to Disney Magic.
The improvements, which took place over a three-week dry dock renovation, include themed entertainment, a new lounge, and enhanced concierge services. In a first for the Madrigal family, ‘An Encanto Celebration’ transports them to the open waters.
The family-friendly event has music, crafts, and storytelling to get everyone involved. Guests can even meet Mirabel and Bruno (the enigmatic relatives no one ever talks about) for photographs and autographs.
In addition to creating butterfly and flower crafts, families may also enjoy a lively sing-along of classic Encanto melodies. During the performance, guests can enjoy a full flavour of South America with various Colombian beers, drinks, sodas, and mocktails inspired by the films.
Meanwhile, inspiration for the new Soul Cat Lounge came from Joe Gardner’s favourite film soundtrack location, the Half Note Lounge. Located on deck 3 close to Rapunzel’s Royal Table, the space has the look and feel of a traditional New York jazz club, complete with brick walls, wood accents, and plenty of lush leather seats set around a stage up for live music.
Guests are encouraged to select a partner and hit the dance floor every night for a lively good time. Concierge areas on Magic have also been upgraded to provide passengers with the best comfort and service at sea.
The space has been renovated and enlarged with a classy new theme and tropical colour scheme inspired by Moana. Each concierge suite—including the two flagship Royal suites and the one- and two-bedroom accommodations—has been updated with new fixtures, furnishings, and fine artwork to elevate the premium experience further.
Deck 10 also features a second outside covered seating space, perfect for enjoying a drink and the sea breeze. Shorepower technology, also installed during the dry dock, will allow Magic to connect to the electrical grid at a port, decreasing the ship’s emissions.
