According to the most recent Royal Caribbean data, the international cruise sector appears to be recovering with high load factors.
Royal Caribbean Group reported an average load factor of 82 percent throughout its fleet in the second quarter.
According to a press statement, there is an increase of up to 90% across the fleet in June, with Caribbean itineraries averaging more than 100%.
This is significant news for the company.
The company’s flagship brand, Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises, which offers close-to-home cruising leaving from U.S. home ports, would dominate Caribbean itineraries.
Silversea and Azamara Club Cruises are the two brands in the company’s portfolio with limited Caribbean deployment. In addition, TUI Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises have a joint venture targeting the German-speaking market.
According to a statement, the company achieved an average load factor of just 59 percent in the first quarter, which matched the company’s fourth quarter load factor in 2021, which was also 59 percent.
