The Caribbean has long been a playground for sun-seekers, but Holland America Line is reshaping how luxury travellers experience it. Its newly announced 2027–2028 Caribbean season is less about rushing between islands and more about lingering longer, diving deeper and savouring every destination with intention.
Running from October 2027 through March 2028, the season spans 29 itineraries across 47 departures, visiting 35 ports in 25 countries and territories. Whether you are seeking a five-day escape or a multi-week journey, the collection is designed to offer flexibility without compromising depth—something increasingly valued by today’s discerning traveller.
More time, more meaning
What sets this season apart is Holland America’s focus on extended port stays and richer onshore experiences. Rather than a fleeting glimpse of each island, guests are given the time to explore local culture, cuisine and history in a more meaningful way.
Shore excursions curated with The HISTORY Channel and “Meet the Makers” experiences bring a sense of place to life, while onboard offerings such as Destination Dining™ and the Global Fresh Fish Program ensure the flavours of the Caribbean continue well beyond the shoreline.
It is a subtle but significant shift: fewer rushed itineraries, more immersive travel.
A private island, perfected

Nearly every sailing includes a call at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay—Holland America’s award-winning private island in the Bahamas. Already a guest favourite, it is being elevated with new luxury touches.
Expect a refined beach club with waiter service and priority access, upgraded cabanas and villas, and thoughtful additions like Aperol spritz tricycles and Bacardi beach buggies. Whether you prefer horseback riding along the shore or a quiet, shaded retreat by the sea, the island balances indulgence with laid-back Caribbean charm.
A new era for Oosterdam
A highlight of the season is the debut of the reimagined Oosterdam in the Caribbean from December 2027. As part of the brand’s Evolution investment, the ship introduces a new generation of accommodations and experiences tailored to modern luxury travellers.
From Solo Verandah staterooms with private balconies to expansive Bridgeview Suites with panoramic ocean views, the design reflects a growing demand for both privacy and space. New venues, including the Grand Dutch Café, add a sense of heritage and relaxed sophistication to life on board.
Oosterdam will focus on longer Southern Caribbean and Panama Canal itineraries—perfect for those looking to go beyond the expected.
From quick escapes to grand voyages

The season’s diversity is one of its strongest appeals. Travellers can opt for a short five- or six-day getaway or extend into 9- to 12-day immersive sailings through the Southern Caribbean, the ABC islands or even partial Panama Canal transits.
For those drawn to nostalgia and storytelling, the standout is the 28-day Pan Am 100th Anniversary Legendary Voyage aboard Zuiderdam. Tracing the historic Clipper routes, this journey visits 19 ports across 13 countries, blending iconic destinations with lesser-known gems and offering a rare connection to the golden age of travel.
Holidays effortlessly reimagined

For festive-season travellers, Holland America offers eight holiday cruises where the planning is already done. Ships are elegantly decorated, dining is elevated and global traditions are woven into the experience—allowing guests to celebrate Christmas or New Year’s Eve at sea without the usual logistics.
Picture a late-night stay in San Juan, a Christmas morning in the Caribbean sunshine or a New Year’s toast beneath the stars—effortless, refined and memorable.
Why it matters for luxury travellers
This season reflects a broader shift in luxury travel: the move toward depth, personalisation and ease. With its blend of longer itineraries, curated experiences and elevated onboard design, Holland America Line is delivering a Caribbean that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.
It is not just about where you go—but how you experience it.
