HX Greenland Promise Extended to All 2027 Sailings on Ullortuneq
On Greenland National Day (Ullortuneq), HX Expeditions is giving travellers a powerful reason to book with confidence.
Marking Sunday 21 June, the world’s longest-running expedition cruise company has extended its well-received HX Greenland Promise to all Greenland sailings in 2027, while celebrating the destination with a new four-part YouTube storytelling series built around Greenlandic voices.
What the HX Greenland Promise Means for 2027
Originally launched in January, the HX Greenland Promise now applies across every Greenland sailing in HX’s 2026 and 2027 programme, including:
- Dedicated East Greenland departures
- Dedicated West Greenland departures
- Broader expedition itineraries featuring Greenland
The reassurance gives guests and trade partners greater confidence when planning travel into the Arctic.
If a Greenland sailing in 2026 or 2027 is:
- Cancelled by HX
- Or impacted by government advice against travel
guests can:
- Transfer to another HX voyage
- Receive an additional 20% Future Cruise Credit
- Or opt for a full refund
Full terms and conditions are available on the HX website and through HX booking channels.
Kalaallit: Portraits of Greenland – Greenland’s Story, From Greenlanders

Alongside this announcement, HX is marking Greenland National Day with the launch of a dedicated four-part YouTube series:
Kalaallit: Portraits of Greenland
This storytelling series explores modern Greenlandic identity through local voices, sharing different perspectives from Greenlandic people and celebrating the destination’s culture, communities and identity.
Rather than telling Greenland’s story from the outside, HX wanted Greenlanders to share their own personal perspectives, experiences and connections to their home, giving audiences a more human, honest and meaningful introduction to this remarkable destination.
The series features voices such as:
- Jacob-Peter, a Greenland kayak maker, alongside a family member
- Sara-Marie, a dressdress, reflecting modern Greenlandic identity
- Arnaaraq-Batseba, a village host in Itilleq, offering a glimpse into daily life and traditional Greenlandic cooking
Why Greenland Matters to HX

Greenland remains one of the world’s most extraordinary countries in the Arctic, yet it is still a travel destination many have yet to discover.
HX has built deep operational and community ties across Greenland and remains the largest expedition cruise operator in the destination by passenger numbers, according to Air Greenland, while also holding the leading market share in the Arctic expedition cruise sector, according to Cruise Industry News.
Through responsibly operated voyages, HX connects guests with Greenland’s landscapes, culture and communities. In 2025 alone, HX brought more than 2,500 guests to the destination.
HX, alongside its charity arm the HX Foundation, has been instrumental in supporting community initiatives through its longstanding partnership with the Association of Greenlandic Children.
Over the past seven years, this partnership has supported:
- Youth programmes
- Summer camps
- Initiatives for children experiencing difficult circumstances
- Educational development
Together, these efforts create safe and supportive environments where young people can build confidence, develop skills and shape their futures.
Karin Strand, VP of Expedition Development for HX and Greenland product owner, said that Greenland remains one of the world’s most extraordinary countries in the Arctic, yet it is still a travel destination many people have yet to discover. She explained that HX created Kalaallit: Portraits of Greenland to help change that in the most authentic way possible. Rather than telling Greenland’s story from the outside, HX wanted Greenlanders to share their own personal perspectives, experiences and connections to their home, giving audiences a more human, honest and meaningful introduction to this remarkable destination.
Gebhard Rainer, CEO of HX Expeditions, said that Greenland is one of the most extraordinary destinations anywhere in the world, and 2027 is a fantastic time to experience it with HX. He explained that guests can expect awe-inspiring landscapes, deep cultural connection and the confidence that comes from travelling with one of the most experienced expedition operators in the region. By extending the HX Greenland Promise to all Greenland sailings in 2027, HX is giving travellers even more reassurance to book with confidence and discover this remarkable destination for themselves.
Why This Is a Smart Move for Travellers
Extending the HX Greenland Promise to all 2027 sailings is a smart move for several reasons:
- Arctic travel is unpredictable. Weather, ice conditions and government advice can change quickly.
- 2027 is a fantastic time to visit Greenland. With new itineraries and deeper community ties, the experience is richer than ever.
- Travellers get real reassurance. The promise means flexibility, credits or refunds if something goes wrong.
- Greenland’s story is told by Greenlanders. The Kalaallit series offers an authentic, human introduction to the destination.
For anyone fascinated by ice, fjords, wildlife and deep cultural connection, Greenland is a destination that rewards both the adventurous and the thoughtful traveller.
