MSC Cruises has started the 12‑month countdown to the debut of MSC World Asia, the line’s newest World Class flagship set to launch in the Western Mediterranean on 4 December 2026. Designed for up to 6,762 guests, this 215,863‑GT ship will blend cutting‑edge technology, Asia‑inspired design and immersive family fun, sailing week‑long itineraries from Barcelona to iconic ports in France, Italy and Malta.
Mediterranean itineraries 2026–2027
For winter 2026/27, MSC World Asia will operate seven‑night cruises calling at Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Messina and Valletta. In summer 2027, the itinerary shifts slightly to include Naples alongside Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Messina and Valletta, keeping the focus firmly on marquee Western Mediterranean ports.

Asia‑inspired design and headline features
A striking stainless‑steel dragon will hover 32 feet above the open‑air World Promenade, stretching 39 feet long and 29 feet wide, clad in nearly 700 mirrors and lit by 3,000 LEDs for a dramatic night‑time display. The ship’s longest dry slide at sea, Tree of Life @ The Spiral, will send guests twisting 266.7 feet down across 12 decks, its pagoda‑style design inspired by Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay.
New dining and family spaces
A brand‑new Pan‑Asian Street Food specialty venue will spotlight flavours from Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Indonesia, with both dine‑in and grab‑and‑go options on a terrace overlooking the sea. Families will find a reimagined Harbour outdoor park with an Asian‑inspired look, featuring the over‑water Cliffhanger swing 164 feet above the ocean, high‑ropes course, aquapark, playground and Harbour Bar & Bites, plus The Clubhouse: a retro, all‑ages hangout with bumper cars, LEGO® Family Zone, table games, basketball and roller skating.
Bars, dining and sports venues
MSC World Asia will offer more than 40 bars, lounges and restaurants, including six specialty concepts such as Butcher’s Cut steakhouse, Kaito Sushi and Teppanyaki, and Hola! Tacos & Cantina alongside new fast‑casual options. An All‑Stars Sports Bar, MSC’s first American‑style sports bar sailing in Europe, will deliver big‑screen game days, interactive games and a sea‑view terrace serving classic comfort food and drinks.

MSC Yacht Club and accommodation choice
The ship will debut MSC’s biggest Yacht Club offering yet, with seven suite categories including a new Royal Duplex Suite for up to six guests, multi‑room Owner’s Suites and whirlpool‑equipped Royal Suites, all with access to a private lounge, restaurant, sundeck, and 24‑hour butler and concierge. Across the ship there will be more than 20 accommodation types, from promenade‑view and ocean‑view balcony cabins to connecting family options and compact interiors ideal for solo travellers.
Wellness, entertainment and tech
Guests can unwind in the Aurea Spa, Technogym‑equipped gym with ocean views, seven pools including aft Zen pools, and 13 hot tubs for a full wellness escape at sea. Around‑the‑clock entertainment will span multiple venues with large‑scale productions, live music, activities and games, while LNG propulsion, advanced energy systems and next‑gen tech underscore MSC’s drive to cleaner cruising.
With bookings now open, MSC World Asia is positioning itself as one of the most feature‑packed mega‑ships in the Mediterranean, combining Asian design cues with a classic Western Med itinerary for 2026 and 2027.
