Regent Seven Seas Cruises®, the world’s leading ultra-luxury cruise line, has officially commenced construction on its next-generation ship, Seven Seas Prestige™. Last week’s steel-cutting ceremony at the Fincantieri-Marghera shipyard in Venice, Italy, marks the beginning of a new era in ultra-luxury, all-inclusive cruising.
A New Era of Luxury
“Seven Seas Prestige represents a new era for Regent Seven Seas Cruises as we once again elevate standards in ultra-luxury, all-inclusive vacations,” said Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “We are delighted to continue our long-established relationship with Fincantieri, a storied name in shipbuilding. This talented team will deliver a ship that transcends luxury, exuding elegance and refinement while radiating sophistication in every way, from bow to stern.”
Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division, echoed this sentiment: “We are proud to partner with Regent Seven Seas Cruises on what will be a revolutionary ship for the ultra-luxury cruise industry. With our long history of building first-class vessels and Regent’s heritage in delivering unrivalled luxury travel experiences, we are excited to begin work on Seven Seas Prestige.”
Attendees and Ceremony Highlights
Key figures from Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Fincantieri attended the ceremony, including Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises; Harry Sommer, President and chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd; and Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division. Their presence underscored the significance of this milestone in the cruise industry.
Unrivalled Space and Luxury
Being built by legendary shipbuilder Fincantieri, Seven Seas Prestige will boast one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the cruise industry, with a gross tonnage of 77,000 and accommodations for up to 850 guests. This ship will offer more Unrivaled Space at Sea® than ever before, featuring innovations such as the reimagined palatial Regent Suite, new accommodation categories, and new dining experiences. These features will emphasize The Most Inclusive Luxury Experience®, which Regent is renowned for.
Future Voyages and Features
Set to be delivered in 2026, Seven Seas Prestige will be the first of two Prestige-Class ships, Regent’s first new ship class in 10 years. This follows the highly successful Explorer-Class ships launched in 2016, 2020, and 2023, also built by Fincantieri.
Sailing to over 550 destinations globally, Regent Seven Seas Cruises offers an expansive array of luxuries, ensuring guests enjoy a pampered voyage. This includes unlimited included shore excursions, gourmet cuisine in specialty restaurants and open-air venues, fine wines and spirits, in-suite liquor and mini-bar replenished daily, entertainment, access to spa facilities, unlimited WiFi, valet laundry, gratuities, and a 1-night pre-cruise hotel stay in concierge suites and above, all as part of the All-Inclusive Cruise Fare.
