Silversea is taking Silver Spirit into a new chapter, unveiling a major round of enhancements that will bring the line’s acclaimed S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) culinary program, refreshed public spaces and new Medallion Suites to one of its most popular classic ships. From May 2026, guests sailing Northern Europe and the Mediterranean with Silversea will experience deeper destination immersion at sea, with more space, comfort and culinary storytelling woven into each voyage.
S.A.L.T. comes to Silver Spirit

Originally launched on newer Silversea ships, the S.A.L.T. program is being added to Silver Spirit for the first time, marking a significant upgrade to the onboard food and beverage offering. Designed to connect guests with the regions they’re sailing through, S.A.L.T. pairs local culture and flavour with curated venues and experiences:
- S.A.L.T. Kitchen – A destination‑inspired restaurant where menus change to reflect the ports on each itinerary, spotlighting regional dishes and ingredients.
- S.A.L.T. Bar – A cosy, craft‑driven bar serving regional spirits and custom cocktails rooted in local recipes and traditions.
- S.A.L.T. Lab – An intimate space for hands‑on cooking classes and demonstrations, where guests can learn about regional techniques and taste their way through local cuisines alongside Silversea’s culinary team and guest experts.
Silversea positions S.A.L.T. as a core part of its destination‑focused philosophy, giving guests a way to “taste” each place, not just see it from the ship or on shore excursions.
Reimagined public spaces and wellness
The refurbishment project also brings a series of design and comfort upgrades to Silver Spirit’s shared spaces.
Key enhancements include:
- Venetian Lounge refresh – New elegant drapery, updated carpeting, reupholstered banquettes and a state‑of‑the‑art LED wall to elevate lectures, live performances and evening entertainment.
- Revitalised pool deck – A more welcoming outdoor environment with refreshed finishes and furnishings, enhancing one of the ship’s most social spaces.
- Zagara Beauty Spa uplift – Light updates including new spa chairs and beds to enhance comfort during treatments.
- Updated fitness centre – Now featuring amp, a precision‑engineered, AI‑powered strength device with multiple attachments and intelligent app integration, part of a wider wellness technology roll‑out across the fleet.
These changes follow a similar transformation completed on Silver Muse in 2025, helping to harmonise the look and feel across Silversea’s Muse‑Class ships.
New Medallion Suites and elevated accommodations
On the accommodations front, Silver Spirit will debut new Medallion Suites, adding another premium option between standard suites and the largest accommodations. These have been designed with space and privacy in mind, and will feature:
- A private veranda for open‑air lounging.
- A luxurious bathroom with vanity, bathtub and walk‑in shower.
- A more secluded bedroom area with a king‑size bed, separated from the living space.
These updates come in addition to ongoing soft‑refurbishment work across existing suites to keep finishes and furnishings in line with Silversea’s contemporary aesthetic.

Northern Europe 2026: fjords, isles and culture
Once the work at Fincantieri’s Palermo shipyard is complete, Silver Spirit will begin a season of immersive Northern Europe voyages from May 2026. Highlights include:
- Southampton to IJmuiden (Amsterdam) – 27 May to 7 June (11 nights)
- Visits to Belfast and Liverpool, tapping into maritime and musical history.
- A northern swing through Scotland’s islands and cities, including Edinburgh and Lerwick in the Shetland Islands.
- IJmuiden (Amsterdam) to Copenhagen – 7 to 19 June (12 days)
- A relaxing sea day followed by the southern Norwegian fjords, with calls at Stavanger, Rosendal and Vik.
- Coastal charm in Kristiansand and northern beauty in Skagen, Denmark.
- A stop at Warnemünde, Germany’s historic Baltic port, before finishing in Copenhagen.
- IJmuiden (Amsterdam) to Southampton – 16 to 27 August
- Ten ports across the Netherlands, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
- An exclusive chance to experience the Edinburgh Military Tattoo during a call to Newhaven (Edinburgh), with front‑row access to this iconic event.
- Southampton to Lisbon – 27 August to 8 September (12 days)
- England to the Channel Islands and northern France.
- An extended stay in Bordeaux as the grape harvest begins.
- Calls in Bilbao and Santander to immerse guests in Basque and Cantabrian food and wine, before concluding in Lisbon.
Later in the year, Silver Spirit will sail a 50‑day Grand Voyage Mediterranean from Lisbon, calling at around 40 destinations in 12 countries, including headline cities such as Istanbul, Dubrovnik and Barcelona as well as smaller ports like Volos, Gythion and Amalfi.
Silversea’s all‑inclusive advantage
While Silver Spirit is gaining new venues and refreshed spaces, Silversea’s core all‑inclusive model remains unchanged. Guests on Silversea voyages benefit from:
- Butler service in every suite category across the fleet.
- Multiple restaurants and open‑seating dining with diverse cuisine.
- 24‑hour in‑suite dining.
- Wines, spirits and beverages served throughout the ship.
- Onboard gratuities included.
- Complimentary standard Wi‑Fi and a robust enrichment program.
Silversea’s president, Bert Hernandez, frames Silver Spirit’s transformation as part of a broader strategy to “create richer journeys” with more space, more comfort and a deeper sense of immersion both onboard and ashore.
Conclusion: Silver Spirit’s next chapter is all about depth
With S.A.L.T., new suites and updated lounges and wellness spaces, Silver Spirit is being retooled not just to look fresher, but to feel more destination‑driven and experience‑rich—especially on culture‑heavy routes like Northern Europe and the Mediterranean. For guests who love Silversea’s small‑ship, all‑suite style but also want more local flavour on the plate and in the glass, this next phase of enhancements looks like a savvy evolution rather than a reinvention.
If you’re considering a Northern Europe fjords voyage, a culture‑packed British Isles and Western Europe itinerary, or a long, slow Grand Voyage Med, the revitalised Silver Spirit will be one of the most interesting ways to do it—with Silversea leaning even further into its strengths: intimacy, service and a genuine sense of place.
